235 up front?

Anyone run a 235 up front instead of a 225 on the OEM staggered wheels? I like the way the 255 fills the rear wheel up more than the 225 does the front wheel and wondered what a 235/40 would look like up front. I know that would make the fronts a little taller than the rears, but just wondering what that would look like.

I have the 107 staggered wheels.

It's an E86, but they should fit ours too:

You can see how much wider the 255 is than the 235, so the 225's must look REALLY skinny if you actually put them side by side with the 255's.

Not sure on the stock rim width or offset you have though

Well the 235 should be fine
48 minus the 13 (1/2") equals 35

How about 245/45 all around? Did that on mine, fills the wheel wells nicely, more even handling and smoother ride. Or go wide to 275/40 rear, same 26.7" diameter as the 245/45 fronts.
The extra 3/8 in ground clearance helps over borderline driveway dips and curbs.

I figured they would fit and I have spacers, so should not be any rub issues. Might not be anyway. The front tire just seems "stretched" and the rear fits the wheel better. I am sure they did that to keep the dia as close as possible, but I think a 235 would look better.

Just wondered if anyone else had done it and if it did indeed make the fit look better.

I've done it on stock and works fine. You may rub on dips since the tire is slightly taller but it'll just be on fender liner by front bumper tab

I've been running 255/35 x 18 in the front on the stock 8" front rim and 275/35 x 18 on the stock 8.5" rears with no issues. That includes about 2 dozen auto crosses, and two track days. There's a lot of room in the Z4 fender wells. When the fronts wear out I'm looking at going to a 265/35. 275's might fit up front with a 5 mm spacer to give a bit of clearance from the strut body.
