Great information. Has been helpful.
Does any one know the offset on factory "M" wheels -COMPARED TO- offset on factory "non-M" wheels?

it depends on which "non-M" wheel you have... different styles have different specs. here is comparo of style 203 to style 224m...

style 203...
front = 18" x 8.0" et47
rear = 18" x 8.5" et50

style 224m...
front = 18" x 8.0" et42
rear = 18" x 9.0" et30

if you were to put 224m's on a non-///m z4 (coming from 203's)...
front = 5mm MORE inner clearance (strut), 5mm LESS outer clearance (fender)
rear = 14mm MORE inner clearance, 26mm LESS outer clearance (sticks out from fender on stock suspension and no camber adjustment)

great website for wheel/tire size comparison...

Those are replicas of Hartge Classic.
You can see that they are replicas if you study them and see that yours do not have the curve between the bolts.
The Hartges are 2 piece wheels and yours are one piece. The bolts are only for the looks.

Here are the real Hartge Classics

Thanks for sharing your wheel sizes. I've been researching tire and wheel sizes and I still can't make up my mind whether or not I get 18" or 19" rims. Most of you guys here seem to have 18" rims. Did you choose to get 18" for comfort? With 19", I'll need to get low profile tires which will roughen up the ride.

Right now I'm leaning towards getting a set of VMR 701s 18" with Hankook V12s 235s in front and 265s in the rear. This should be ok without spacers, I imagine.

I'm planning on getting 18x8.5 in the front and 18x10 in the rear...

tires up front are 225/40/18 and rears are 265/35/18

what would the recommended offset be for a setup like this?

I have stock suspension for now

for 8.5" up front you'll want between et40 and et35

the only offset that will work for 10" in back is et40, and you'll need a serious amount of camber. you'll also need a fat stack of cash for all of the tires you're going to go through because of wacky alignment.

I personally chose 19s for these reasons

1. I dont beat on my car or track my car. If i did i would opt for smaller lighter wheels.

2. 19"s look and I personally think 18s look kinda small on the Z

3. Also from my experience used 18" aftermarket wheels like Iforged, HREs, and DPEs are much harder to find than their 19" counterparts.

I've totally changed my game plan. I will be keeping my 108s for now, get new tires for them when the RFTs are no good and I'll use these for auto crossing. I'll get a pair of 19" just for looks. What were the offsets on your 19" rims? Did you use pacers? What size tires did you go with? Thanks!

IIRC 245/35/19 Front and 275/30/19 rear. The wheels were 19x8.5 Front and 19x10 Rear.

Doubt it, would be too heavy and would make your calipers look non-existent imho...

I agree with this.

20" wheels are heavy and tires are expensive. However If you have a bbk and a really aggresive look then you might be able to pull it off. IIRC there is a z4 from europe that is on black 20"s and looks good because of the acs body kit. On a stock car with just coils it will be too much. thats just IMHO

Ordered 18x8 ET20/18x9 ET22 Style 5s off an E38 today, brand new. We'll see how they fit up and what tires I need to run.

you will struggle to get those to fit... the offsets are REALLY aggressive.

you'll also need centering rings.
