The e86 were definitely getting extremely cheap.. almost e85 prices. When the z5 comes out.. we might get the e89 at almost the same price as the current e86s.

Final prices of Z4M sales would be a better indicator of value rather than listings.
Did notice that 20k MI and below coupes are more and more scarce. Lots of high milers listed. |

Hmm, at this price point, its a pretty hard ride to beat. probably one of the best value shooting brakes you can buy.

I've been tracking these for a while and prices continue to drop. Owners/dealers have ridiculously high starting prices and then it sits unsold for months. Once they drop to a reasonable price, they sell quickly. When I see a 80k mile car for $30k I laugh.
With that said, anybody want to sell me theirs for a reasonable price? Under $25k. |

Does anybody know anything about this car? Seems to have been on the market for a long time. Anybody ever check it out?

They only built 1,815 E86 M Coupes. It along with the E85 M Roadster are the last analog BMW M cars ever built.
There is an increase in certain BMW M cars that will take place in the next few years. The lower the volume of said car, the better the price increase. People want something different, desirable and that gives them what they cannot get in the form of "an experience" from a current car. Natural sounds, steering feel, emotion, tactile feel, a manual transmission and actual noises the car makes because it's mechanical and has a feeling of it being "alive" so to speak. M Coupes will increase in price and the ones priced in the middle of the market (loved and driven but not beat) will have the most competition among future buyers. |

This is why I'm considering just keeping my car. I was mostly selling to get some space back and free up cash but the prices today might be at the bottom of the long-term curve. My car has 77k miles, good options and is mechanically sound yet no takers at 25k$. At this point I might as well keep the car. I may not drive it much but I feel more confident that it won't lose too much value.

It is amazing to me that car is still on the market. $23,500 for a clean fairly low mileage MC is a good deal.
Makes sense considering they have been out of production for 8yrs. My '06 MR with 19,200 miles is getting more rare every day. |

I put about 2,000 miles on my Z4 and 4,000 miles on my daily driver this past year. I just don't get the opportunity to drive that much, so I can believe it. 19,200 miles over 10 years is very reasonable for a weekend car.

Having said that I only do about 5,000 Km's a year on my roadster. I do find every excuse to take her out............"OK hun, yup I can run to the pharmacy for some feminine hygiene supplies, be back in an hour or so"

I am also not buying the "data" when it is coming from a site that doesn't know what they sold for, or if they actually sold, and KBB's 2% increase works out to about $500.
