a little mod update :z4mc:
the only other thing i think i'll do is get coilovers. i'm a little hesitant because my front end will scrape and bottom out on everything, and it'll really reduce the daily driveability of the car. i commute 80 miles round trip to work...i don't want want to look for another car just to commute to work.
anyways, here's what she looks like right now. tints body colored reflectors on front and rear bumpers blacked out kidney custom composite front lip zhp shift knob (already installed when i bought it) AFE intake RE-Xpipe Arqray Exhaust BBS RGR 19x8.5 et32 - 19x10 et20 Michelin PSS thanks to M3 dust fred Fabspeed headers installed March31st i'd like to hear your take on the exhaust note. i went quiet with the mufflers because picking the wrong exhaust for the s54 will turn it into a buzzing fart can. also not sure if it'll sound better or worse with the headers in.

but wait!
Re: "the only other thing i think i'll do is get coilovers. i'm a little hesitant because my front end will scrape and bottom out on everything, and it'll really reduce the daily driveability of the car."
Not necessarily true. Height-adjustable coil-overs can be set as high (or even higher) than stock if you so choose (but please don't.) Also, the ride may actually *improve* if you set the dampers to softer than stock. It will never ride like a 5-series, but it can be a very driveable, relatively comfortable car. Tire/wheel choice also has a big effect on ride quality. It all depends on the setup you choose. KWs have a great deal of adjustability. So, don't rule out coilovers until you determine if you can do what you want with them. Just my .02 from living with them. |

I love the sound. Not too loud. Just perfect from what I can tell.

However I will agree that it's a great upgrade and totally worth it. I set mine at max height and the ride feels more comfortable while feeling more planted and performing better.

Looks awesome! My next (and last mods) will be H&R coils and fabspeed headers.

Car sounds great. I have the Remus mufflers, Euro headers, stock x-pipe and stock secondary cats and the car has a nice sound but I would not mind just a tad more sound. I may have to swing for the RE XPipe later this year after hearing your car
BTW, the KW V3s I have had on the car for the last 2 years improved both the ride quality as well as handling. The skip I used to get over bridge expansion joints on a turning road is all gone as well - love it. And I have the BBS RGRs in 18" - awesome wheels. I wish BBS had those for my TT As my car is not becoming more of a track car and a weekend car, I will be switching out the V3 for KW Clubsports that are sitting in my basement since last December. |

i recommend the x-pipe. it adds some rasp, but even so, not as much as an e46m might respond with.
