Had a similar, albeit less traumatic fiasco a few weeks back. Best of luck on the repair and possibly getting some $$ from the state.

Sporting the Z4M 5 series look!

This is a little OT but this is exactly why my "summer vehicles" are always insured for replacement value (appraised).
I hope that the damage is not to the extreme that would cause a write off. Especially with all the work and coin you have put into it.

As do I, however if that's how it ends up....I'm taking every single piece off the car and either upgrading to an m or replacing it with exactly what I have. My stubbornness will prevail...besides of all the forums I've belonged to...(civic, vw vortex, fbody). This has been hands down the best....I have all intentions of being a permanent resident here until I'm senile

Good man

I was going to suggest the obvious upgrade.

Tough go. But at least it's just a rim right? You'll get a replacement and be good to go before you know it.

Didn't mean to scare you, but it's common. It really depends on the hit.

I don't know that there's much to be upgraded, unless you intend to swap in different struts. I'd do the rears at the same time to keep things balanced.

Update is that there actually is no structural damage thank god. However endlink, shock, and wheel are definitely toast. Taking my truck over to the exit this weekend and going to try and snap some pictures of the hole and try and get something out of jersey to cover the damages....fingers crossed

I was referring to if the car had serious structural and was now garbage, an z4M would be my next upgrade. However all looks ok for now

In retrospect, your absolutely right...its just a rim and some suspension parts and it could've been a lot worse. Aside from that it doesn't alleviate the aggravation and fury at the tristates municipalities that neglect roads because of the "lack of $$"...but that's a whole other issue

Mark down the dates. Most townships have a mandate as to how long is "reasonable" to complete a repair of the roadway. If it's significant and hasn't been repaired for a long time it will help your case.

It is maddening for sure. Hopefully you get something back from the state.
