New Hood Louvers Done
I installed this hood louvers, Let me know what you think.
The car is garaged for the winter so it doesn't look very clean, Sorry for that. I will post better pictures on the spring after some waxing |

....Are those stick ons or did you cut your hood? I'm on the fence on them and your grilles. But, I do like your wheels if that counts. Wish I had a set.

They are cut but the thing is I'm not done with the full exterior modifications so now some stuff may look out of place, I will be getting a new Bumper, new side skirt, new splitter, new wing spoiler, new paint job and maybe some new mirrors.
The Hood Louvers are functional, I did not want spend 5k for a VRS Hood if it did not look as bad this way. the vent's are 17" long and 6" wide and they are heat extractors for nature. |

Honestly the pictures don't look good at all, but in person they look OEM, Anyways I'm very pleased with the results.
My roof will be Black and the A pillar, C pillar, Mirrors and spoiler also 15% tint all around and maybe 75% on windshield (have not decided about that yet) The front lip Also will be Black and Hamann rear splitter and Lower side skirts in black (custom) Something in this line (see Picture) |

I'd color match the louvers to save the look (IMO)
Wish someone made a proper hood w/scoop rather than only louvered. |

Yes the hood louvers will be red if I keep the grills red, but I will decide that after I change the bumper.

cant comment on the louvers yet, but I will say it looks better than imagined, and I love the functionality aspect of it
scoop would be pointless since we don't have an open intake or intrercooler under the hood

meh, sorry. Me thinks they will look glued on, functional or not, unless painted to match and even then, may still have a glued-on, after thought look. It's more the expansive, flat, rather featureless hood rather than those specific vents - if the hood had more or different contour, those vents might not look as bad.
But, for having the cojones to cut holes in the hood for a functional mod.

In the end I really like and until the whole project is done, it's no way to say for sure, but they definitely will help with extracting the heat and I do Like it.
Thank's for the comments please keep them coming. |

IMHO, they are too far forward on the hood by at least three inches. Was there a specific reason for that particular placement?
Just wondering. And I also wonder if they will reduce under-hood temperatures, but we won't know until spring... |

Yes, the placement is strategic to improve efficiency of the louver, but is very hard to explain. I may write a DIY on it later to and explain it because I need a side picture and a open hood picture for that.

Diokaef, Was there are reason you chose to use "add on" louvers instead of having the louvers stamped/cut directly into the metal of the hood?

^ I have for many months trying to find the perfect louver to add or make on my hood, and I choose this one for few reasons:
They are low profile with great designed louvers and offer a option to close in case of rain driving and keep functionality also they are great looking (in Person they really look OEM) and also they bolt to the car and not just glued. Also cutting/stamp on vents you can't close them in raining days and keep it functional also cost way more then this ones cost. |
