Comparison to my previous Z4 MC

Hi Guys,

As most of you know, I recently sold my Z4 MCoupé and bought a 2012 AMV8Vs with 11,250 miles, a comprehensive Aston Martin service history and about 4 months of warranty remaining (with the option to get more). Here's a quick comparison.

I do miss my Z4 MC and in particular the seats and steering wheel, these are not as good in the Vantage. The steering wheel is too thin and although the seats are really comfortable they don't hug me like the Z4 MCs.
The noise of the vantage is a really magical sound; I really can't get enough of it! I have the premium stereo which is excellent, but to be honest I haven't used it much as the exhaust is so sweet. The 4.7 engine just flies through the revs, much faster than the Z4 MCs and I absolutely love the flappy paddles. I went for a 4 hour drive into the mountains today (in the rain) and the paddles worked so well in the twisties. The Vantage is a lot more composed on the road to, she's stable but comfortable and not twitchy. The level of grip is quite astonishing, even in the wet; not once did I feel like I should back off the loud pedal. This makes her a lot more confidence inspiring to drive quickly. The interior in the vantage is exceptional and feels like a very special place to sit. It's also a lot roomier than the Z4 MC......a lot!

Plus, I can now fit two sets of golf clubs comfortable in the boot.

Here are some pics:

Gorgeous car - almost like a piece of automotive jewelry.

In addition to an E90 M3, I've also considered getting a used V8 Vantage to replace my Z4M, though probably would be a 2007-2008 older model to fit within my "modest" budget.

Also, I'm curious why you chose the the automatic over the manual?

I sold my Z earlier this year and a V8V is really the only car I've driven since that can fill the void (well, the Caterham I test drove was great, but not a fair comparison.) I'm looking forward to buying one myself - looks beautiful and the sound is intoxicating

I would try and work your budget into getting a 2009 onwards for the 4.7 engine. I went with the automated manual because I wanted the S version and manuals are not an option (until 2015 I think). I wasn't sure at first, but I love using the paddles now.
