I just pulled the trigger on a pair of SuperSprints Version 2 Stepped Headers......
It will take like a month to get here and the reason why I ordered them was because they make more power than the CSL headers......
any comments or advice are welcome. I got them for 1600 even btw from BImmerworld. |

Very nice set,
Shame nowhere has them in "physical" stock and you have to wait so long, I might go down this route myself and sell the Euro headers, just haven't decided if I want to wait that long,

Cool. Are you going to relocate your O2 sensor bungs or go with a tune?
Before and after dynos would be awesome. |

I also have the ESS tune, I didn't ask for the o2 sensors to be turned off, Just the tune, So hopefully that will adapt and give some more power, I'm actually talking with a vendor right now to order a set of these, Mid march was the quoted delivery time, I won't be driving the car until then anyway,

Lol you don't know me too well I see,
I do all my own work, Exhausts, 4.10 gears, powdercoating, the lot, including all fabrication and one off's I make, I got the Euro pipe on a lucky find from a guy in Germany, I shall see if he can hold of anymore, remember Z4M's are even rarer in Europe, the majority of them are over here in the US,

A tune will cause you to see an increase in power, but not because it gets rid of the SES light; it's the tuning for a catless system that nets the power. To get rid of the light, the tune just tells the secondary O2s to shut up. On or off, the light has no effect on power. The problem is if you have OBDII inspections in your area, the OBDII reader will know you've turned off your secondary O2 sensors. You won't pass inspection with a light, and you won't pass inspection with the O2s turned off.
Relocating the O2 sensors will only get rid of the SES light. You will see no change in power. This method is your best bet for passing inspection as long as there is no sniff test. I'm in no way guaranteeing that you will pass inspection, because I don't deal with your state's inspections. |
