Ah, another oil topic. There is something you can do, but not sure it's called a solution. If you run a lighter oil, such as 0W-40, then it'll warm up quicker. But then you risk of having the oil being too thin for the motor when you're hammering it around. I don't know enough about the S54 to be able to recommend doing that.

For what it's worth, I run Mobil1 0W40 and it warms up far faster than 10W60 ever did. Hell, I remember driving in our winters (0C/32F) and it got to operating temp when I got to work 20 mins after I left home.

Edit: I run 0W40 on my E92 M3. Not Z4M.
