Great car, happy new owner of Z4 M Coupe

Hello group from a group newbie,
A couple of weeks ago I had a student at an HPDE in Fontana; he drove a Z4 M Coupe. As his instructor I was fortunate to drive a few laps and Wow, I confirmed that I needed to have one! Well, I happened upon one a few days ago, things came together and I was able to pick it up today; the car is a 06 M Coupe, Silver grey/black, carbon, extended leather, NAV, etc.
The car is beyond my expectations, 8,295 miles, No paint work, scratches, nada. Thank you to fellow MC owner Dan Wu, and fellow Instructor and friend Judy Ray who was the salesperson that sold me the car via Crevier. I'll mitt, I have a few cars and have previously owned some other fine BMW examples but this car is really tops to my list. My current:
74 2002 Turbo, 97 M3, 88 M3, 98 318TiS, 05 X3, a tow vehicle (Nissan Titan) and a couple of others. Although I've only owned this car for a total of 5 hrs, I know it's one that my wife will probably have to bury me in!
Best to all, -Eddy

Thanks all, it's great to be a M Coupe owner, a car that I thought that I would never be able to own.

Picked up my 07 Z4M Coupe last week, and am loving it. Got it with 12K miles on it. Got a little road rash on the front fangs I gotta fix, but she's in great shape. It's my first BMW. Found her here in Colorado off Craigslist. I was initially looking at some older Z4 convertibles, and saw her on CL. Whoa, they made hardtops? Took her for a test drive, and it put a huge grin on my face. Wife said yes, bank said yes, sealed the deal, she's my baby now

*** Posted in a general forum, before I realized that there was a specific sticky thread for intro's ***

Hi All,

I'm a long time member of maXbimmer.com, but a few months ago acquired a 2007 Z4 3.0si.

Max doesn't have many members with Z4's, so it was suggested to me to join up here.

A bit of history on myself - This is my second bimmer, my first was NOT a good experience. I had an e46 323i. After 6 months of owning it (it was just outside of warranty when I bought it) it all went downhill. Long story short, I ended up spending about $10,000 in 6 months on repairs (tranny went, sunroof headliner, lower control arms, etc, etc). I swore that was the end of my german ventures...

Fast forward 5 years - my brother in law, who's family owns a larger successful used car dealership calls me up and tells me there is a nice Z4 at auction that is not being bid on, due to time of year (it was Oct). So we went for it. Ended up getting a steal of a deal for the ride. 22,000 KM's on the clock, 4 years old, perfect body. Only downside, we didn't realize that it was a manual roof. I quickly got over that when I realized how easy it was to open and that I'd never have the power roof motor problems that I saw many people had.

Other then that, my other rides are a 2006 Acura TL (winter and kids hauler) and 2007 Acura MDX (wifey's ride).

I'd swore I wouldn't come back, but alas, I did! And I'm loving every minute of it...

I look forward to participating here!

Thanks,

Deep

Wow, a manual roof? Really? I didn't think anything was ordered with a manual roof? My 04 had the hand crank in case the motor failed but my 08 not even that. Thing to do is get a shorty cover for the cockpit and leave the top down!

New owner living in Japan

Hello from Japan. I'm an American who's loved over here for 20 years (long story), though I get back to San Diego several times a year. I have been a Mazda Miata/Roadster fan and have own four of the cars (well, one was my mother's but I bought if for her) but when my BMW dealer showed me a limited edition car that was available I pulled the trigger and got this car. I'm having the time of my life, enjoying it more than I thought possible.

I doubt it but is there anyone from Japan around here?

Hello.

We've anyone of the Sneads Ferry, Topsail, Surf City, Holly Ridge, Hampstead variety?
I feel as though I'm passing other Z4s all day, everyday; Surely a fraction must be on the zPOST!?

So Jealous! Being of a design background, we all know Studie AG +YOKOHAMA- is the best in business. Their GT setups are what pretty much made me have to buy a Z. A shame they're Japanese market exclusive...

Enjoy! Plenty here to start down the path of learning more. What did you have in mind? Maintenance? Mods?

You'll see some of the same names over here. Okay to point us to a thread "over there" if you've got a build thread going.

Hey folks... been posting on here a bit, but figured I might as well officially say hello since I actually own a Z4 now. In fact I just picked it up today (after some advice from others here on the forum.)

2006 BMW Z4 3.0si Roadster, 6-speed Auto, Jet Black on Black, pretty much fully loaded with Sports & Premium Package, plus Xenons, Heated Seats, and Nav. Only 55K miles too, which isn't bad for 6 years.

Put about 75 miles on it today and it runs like a dream, but I still have some things I want to do with it once I have the dealership give it a full once over. Should be a nice fun car for the summer... after that the wife and I get to determine who gets the Z4 and who gets the 328i.

I put some pictures up in the garage, though those weren't taken by me. Its the same car though.

Newbie from the UK

Hi All - Bing here from the UK. Been a member on Z4-Forum since I bought my Z back in September last year, and already see a few familiar usernames... figured I'd have a poke around in other fonts of knowledge in an official capacity rather than simply lurking

I have a 2006 3.0 Si Roadster auto, running on 108s in sapphire black, with dream red interior, satnav etc etc. I officially have fully blown Z4itis thanks to the guys over on Z4-Forum, which means so far I have modded the sound generator, de-badged it, added cup holders, a Gaptech remote hood & one touch module, black/silver carbon fibre roundels, black front grilles, a clear rear brake light, and a stubby antenna. Oh, and I have Eibach springs waiting to be fitted as soon as I can sneak them past the wife...

So, some pics of my baby :

Looking forward to taking part
