Might be ok, might be a clueless owner, might be a scam. Might be a find but I'd approach with caution.

Can you play DVD movies on the nav screen while the car is parked, like on many recent cars? If so, I'm guessing that the owner is just not that familiar with the car. In which case, it may be a steal. But extra due diligence on the part of the buyer is highly recommended, just in case.

Agreed. I'm thinking maybe they saw the DVD player for the navi in the centre storage area and didn't realize it was for the navigation.

Apologies for hi-jacking the thread, but E90PAT if you're seriously looking, my 07 AW/IR with 56k will soon be officially posted for sale (waiting for weather to get pictures). I just felt like I had to say something to offer a (probably) better opportunity.

Located in Atlanta might be more convenient for you and as a fellow member/enthusiast, would surely be more transparent/not a scam. I'm almost certain mine is better cared for...

Ok, so I talked to the guy. He said he was first owner and garage kept.

His listing says 60k, car fax I pulled says last reported was 68k in 2016.

Something's fishy here. Any advice on what to ask? Any test I should request to perform on the motor like an oil test?

Atleast he's responsive

With 60-70k miles, this car will be due for rod bearings which you should certainly keep in mind as a near-term maintenance item. Can he provide any service records outlining any and all preventative maintenance performed? A PPI by a local shop would be your best bet.

Great, I've read into some reliability problems with the s54 engine. Any special attention to request in that regard?

A quick read on that read leads to it pote tidally being a scam
