Interesting thread about the Z4M
After selling my vette and buying a Z4M, I got smashed on the vette forum by a "few" vette owners. I thought I was pretty nice and honest. But I guess some people just think our Z4's are chick cars!
Enjoy the reading... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...heres-why.html

Typical of that crowd. It must be hard knowing the car is all 80s for little dick people. Talk about inefficient and dated... you made the right choice. Vettes are everywhere, the Z4M isn't.

True, the Z4M is much more rare of a car, but the vette is one hell of a machine. Just different all around. There are several cars out there that I would not want or never own, but I just don't give BS opinions about a car I have never driven or owned.

True about the false opinions. But those responses tell me something about the owners.

All I can say about your stereo typical Vette drivers is that back when I auto-Xed a '03 stock Miata CS I thoroughly enjoyed destroying the egos of all the newbie Vette owners who thought they would show up to our events with their new car and show us a thing or two about who is fast then leave all red faced. That being said I dig the last two gen Vettes and when you get a talented driver behind the wheel they can be vicious.

Why can't people just enjoy their own cars and still admire others. I don't get it. That's one of the reasons I left another forum. Everyone was so silly. Young kid who loved BMWs would come on who could only afford an '87 Corolla and they would cut him down and he would leave. It's so silly. I'm a BMW lover, but I still admire many other types of cars.

I muddled through all the responses, and came to the conclusion that they would have made the same comment if you had bought any other car other than a
Vette. Bugatti? Aston Martin? Ferrari? Lamborgini? They all suck next to a Vette. gggg. Nice to be committed to your car, lol, but knee jerk denial doesn't exactly lead one to discover new ideas. |

nothing unusual. any car specific forum you go on and say you're moving onto a different car will always have the same responses. "you'll be back", "that's a downgrade", "looks like a chick, old mans etc. car ". happens on every forum.
same thing happened to me on the vw forums |

Since I own several Brands of cars,I'm on several brands of car forums. I find that its usually the same ol' few BRAND Nazi's that behave verbally like that.
The rest are true car enthusiasts who love and appreciate most well designed cars. However.....thats not been my experiance within the Vette' crowd, lol. |

That's why I could never buy a vett, I don't want to be part of that club.

If you want a pretty level-headed discussion about all sorts of cars, check out the "car talk" section of miata.net's forum: http://forum.miata.net/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=20
There are exceptions to every forum, I suppose. But this one above is mostly older and wiser member -- less "mine's bigger than yours" infantile jerks. Doug |

If you want to stir the pot, go in there and call the vette "America's favorite plastic pig" or a "fiberglas toupee" and see if that gets them going.

So I bought my CPO Z4M Coupe in Atlanta but will be servicing the car in Meridian, MS. I live 60 miles away. Is the Meridian dealer obligated to providing me a BMW loaner?

... or ask them to open the hood and count 12 parts that say: "Made in U.S.A." ... can't be done.

I don't think any dealerships are obligated to provide a loaner, some do it out of courtesy for warranty work but if it's just maintenance, it's by dealer. Mine just offers a two-way shuttle service.
