z4m DSC DTC?

My '03 z4 3.0 had 3 stages of traction control. When I pressed the dsc button once in an '06 z4mr, it went straight to all traction off, without first going to dtc. is that how they all are?

Yes. I think it says something to this effect in the M supplementary manual.

hmmm thats a bit disappointing. I was really happy to have that little bit of safety cushion with it half off in my old car. But then again my current car has nothing

The M also has LSD, which kind of makes up for it, a little

FYI DTC isn't meant to be half power traction control, it's meant to be used in a situation like being stuck in the mud or something to be able to free the car where DSC wouldn't allow enough engine power to do so.

Although it did work out nicely as a half power traction control that would let you kick the tail out.

The thresholds are higher in the M too, so it is more hesitant to kick him. It feels more like the second stage of the standard Z4 (traction control off, stability control on).

exactly why I'll miss it. Worked perfectly in the rain. you could swing the tail out as much as you wanted, and it would straighten you back up. hahahh. miss that

Not sure what more you're looking for someone to confirm.
Like the others said; on M cars there's no middle ground, it's all or nothing.

Yes the M settings are definitely more aggressive in the ON mode.
I guarantee you will not miss your old system.
