Turning Engine for Valve Adjustment

I finally did my valve adjustment on the Moupe. There are lot of write ups online so I won't bother with that. The one thing I did want to note was how to turn the engine. I saw online where people were accessing the crank area from under the car. That makes this a 2 man job because you can't see where the lobes of the cam are while you are turning.

An easier alternative is to remove the air filter box. It takes 3 minutes to take it off. The tabs at the bottom don't come off easily. Just yank the box straight up and it will slide right off those tabs that have arrows on them. From there I was able to connect the 32mm socket and a rachet to turn the engine (counter-clockwise) from up top.

Trying to turn the engine with a 24mm wrench at the cam was too difficult. I don't recommend it for a valve adjustment.

Great tip! I will have to try it next time around. When i did mine, put the tranny to 6th gear and push the car a few inches and it worked perfectly as well.

I just take off the fan shroud "tool tray" and pop out the fan.
Easy-peezy and gives you plenty of room.

What Stickmon said, it's the easiest way.
