Any musicians/guitarists in the house?
Hi guys,
I'm seriously considering purchasing a used e85 z4 from the 2006-2008 era. I've test driven a couple but one question remains- can you fit a guitar case or a small amp into the trunk? I'm not obviously talking a marshall stack here, but something similar to a small fender deluxe reverb or a modern fender/gibby hardshell case? (I would've tested it, but it might've been a bit odd to lug around a guitar amp during a test drive at the dealership ) This is the major thing that's worrying me about buying this car cause I like to run around with my friends and jam. This will be my only vehicle except when I will hijack my parents van for hardware store runs, etc. Thanks! gas-can |

When I sold cars at a Chevy/Toyota dealership years ago it wan't uncommon for a customer to bring a piece of equipment in to see if it would fit in an SUV hatch because they didn't want a van. Some customers would just show up with a tape measure too. I even lined up a bunch of SUVs side by side for a customer once on the used car lot so they could check several of them. |

I can get my Tele '52 re-issue case in there, but thats the thermometer case. Too late at the moment, but maybe tomorrow I'll run the rectangular Strat case out there and see if I can get it in the trunk area. A small amp is an easy fit. I've got an old '79 Boogie head and 1x12 cabinet and they fit fine. I would think a Deluxe reverb would be no problem.

Yep - amp (Fender twin snug but safe, Peavey Bandit lots of room) in trunk, guitar(s) ride shotgun.
I actually took my son's Euphonium along on various test drives to make sure it would fit (like a small tuba for those who may be curious). No problems... even with a school backpack and a swim gear bag alongside. Last edited by EenyBear; 11-02-2012 at 07:04 PM.. |

Wow thanks so much guys! This is exactly what I was looking for! And if Eeny can fit a bloody twin inside his trunk, I think I should be safe.
Now I just have to find a z4. It's turning out to be a lot harder than I thought and I've been looking for about 2 months.... Why aren't people selling them?!! (Ok a lot of people are selling autos, and I'm looking for a manual so this might be my fault, but still ) Thanks again! gas-can |
