Just bought THESE for <$7. They do look whiter, but not brighter, infact, they are a little directional compared to globes. I hoped to put them in the cubby/rear console, but the wires must be broken.

I am not really convinced these days about interior LED lights so much. Globes are more likely to have spill light instead of spotty LED's. Ziza just seems too expensive when I am not so sure they are any better than what I bought online.

The LED strip light mod for the trunk however was a massive improvement.

I found that this 5LED bulb glows much closer to OEM (in terms of brightness) than the single LED.

For the trunk (boot), I used the 16LED festoon. Since the trunk only have 1 bulb, I want the maximum luminescent out of the bulb.
Can you provide a picture of the "two screws"? I see two things that look like they may be the screws you are taking about, but my screw driver doesn't fit in the narrow passage way to them.

Thanks for showing how to remove the clear plastic lens. I had managed to feed the two map light bulbs in by inserting the bulb from the front and connecting at the back, but i couldn't figure out how to remove the clear lens that covers the centre bulb. My 2 holding screws (2006 3.0i roadster) were in a slightly different place, but very similar.

Another small trick to point out, is that in removing this whole light assembly, start by prying from the left side which has the snap-catches, the right side is more of a hinge and should not be pried down (at least on mine).

Come to think of it, I may have grabbed the wrong picture. Looking at it more closely, that may have been the rear center dome light of my X5

I managed to unplug the door panel light out and now I can't get it back in because the wire is too short!!!
What can I do now!?

Also how can I remove the top light box?
