Question Supercharger and emissions test

I was already to install the VF570 on my coupe when I learned that it will not pass an emissions test in New York.

So far there is one available workaround. Before the test, install the stock injectors, MAF, and flash the stock software. Then reinstall them after.

That's going to be up to 8 hours in a shop each year. In theory I could do this myself, but I live in the city and I don't have the time or experience.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Any advice?

I'm in CA and have decided just not to do anything fun under the hood. Hope you can figure out a way around this. Boo emissions testing!

Ask around and see if anyone knows a guy who knows a guy. Car shows are a good place to meet these people. There has to be plenty of people in NYC with modified cars that pass emissions one way or another.

Do NOT reflash the ECU and install stock injectors with the expectation of passing emissions testing. Reflashing software will likely require you to go through the drive cycle again in order for the system to show "ready". I would not want to go throught the drive cycle with an untuned supercharger strapped to the front of the car. Besides that, the car wouldn't run properly and would probably fail anyway.

What part of the emissions test concerns you? Unless you've had your O2 sensors turned off, I'd expect it to pass an OBD2 emissions test.

This. First find out what they can potentially fail you on. I am in NJ and NJ only does emission and as long as you do not have a SES and a major exhaust leak you are passed.

FWIW I chose NOT to add the VT455 to my ///M as it would likely fail her in New Hampshire and no one could offer any good suggestions as to how to get around it when I was researching the project.
