Z4Ms with low offset fronts

I saw in the stickied thread at the top that ~35 et for the front offset is about as low as people recommend going.

Has anyone tried et 32? I am guessing you might have to do some fender liner modding.

Inputs on the lowest offset of the front of a Z4M and what suspension you are running is appreciated.

Thanks,
Derek

Depends on the width of the wheel as well.

I ran 19x8.5 ET35 with 245/35 PS2 on my M Roady and had to heat the liner right where it meets the wheel arch near the front.
I was running H&Rs.

It will also depend on the tire you are running.

I'm running 19 X 8.5 ET35 with 245/35 General Exclaims with a -2.1F Camber and ~1/2" drop (GC Coilovers)... No issues and the wheels look a little tucked in due to the camber. As is, I could probably rock ET32 without issues.

^ the camber setting would definitely create more clearance.

Tires holding up OK Rick?

I am running 245/35/19 on an 19X8.5 et30 and -2.5 camber. Lowered 1" up front with no rubbing issues.

I am looking at a particular setup right now which are 19 x 8.5 et 32.

Sounds like you lower guys have no issues 1) because you are running more camber with the lowered setups and 2) there is no issue with the wider tires hitting the strut because the offset is so low.

What would you guys recommend wrapping an 8.5 inch wheel in? sounds like 245 will fit it, and that is certainly quite 'meaty'.

BTW for aspect ratios on 19s, do you guys just run 10mm lower than the 18 stock profile?

So if I run 245/35 on a 19x8.5 et 32 would you guys expect rubbing with the oem suspension? I'd rather not have to mess with the fender well too much at this point in the game (maybe in years to come when the car is older will I start seriously considering modding the car - but right now I have enough car projects on my hands ) Just looking for better wheels and tires for a summer set right now - no other mods.

Thanks for all the info so far - very informative feedback.

You should be able to run 8.5" ET30 front wheels without any issue. Front wheels will be super flush with fenders if your car is stock height and camber.

running 19X8.5 32 offset wouldn't be a problem at all. that's what i'm using now you can go a lot more. I regret not going more. but I do have suspension on my car and I do have camber, but if you look at my car in the front I have a lot of space left.

Great discussion. I am right now looking at a set of wheels 19x8.5 et 30, b/c every other et is out of stock. I was a little dubious b/c I had read of others rubbing with et 35 and 38. The vendor I spoke with seemed confident that et30 would be fine as he had sold many to Z4 owners in the past. The rears would be 19x10 et 25 or 22. I just wouldn't want the front to be more bulging than the rear, I don't think it would be a good look. Maybe I should run a 235/35 vs a 245/35 to in front be safe.
Thx

850tgul, did you end up getting 19x8.5 ET30 fr the front? What size tires did you end up with.

I, too, am looking at rims of this size and I'm really concerned it will rub.
