Z4MR suspension refresh
Hey folks. Swapping original front springs onto Bilstein B6s, and have a question about how to position the spring on the lower pad above the strut plate.
Here's how the spring is positioned on the passenger side, which I have copied onto the new driver's side strut. Is this placement correct? |

If I remember correctly I bottomed the end of the spring against the stop on the isolator.
The spring coil began to rise at the step in the seat and rubber, so made sense to me to do it that way.

When I tried pushing the end of the spring to the green arrow, the bottom rung of the coil hung over the side of the strut plate and the spring didn't want to sit down fully on the other side. Lined up as my pic shows it, it stays lined up all the way around. |

From Pelican parts diy page. Disregard the blue arrow.
Looks like the Spring is not bottomed out against the isolator stop

Should the new strut mounts turn freely when everything is reassembled? I was going to torque the top lock nut down on my passenger strut and noticed that the mount doesn't rotate.
Thinkin I messed something up on reassembly. Appreciate any thoughts... |

But it is important to have the mount bolts lined up before you release the spring! |

it makes such an incredible difference. I did this same conversion to Bilstein B6's and Eibach Pro-Kit springs in Q1 2017; I love the 3/4-7/8 in front drop and the 3/8-1/2 in rear drop; I also replaced the OEM front control arms with the high performance Lemforder ZHP performance front control arms and new OEM FCAB's and all new shock pads, guide supports, shock bump stops, etc; it is STIFF and handles like a freakin' race-kart....it is entirely flat in corners. I did this upgrade at 62K miles. How many miles on your Z4MR when you upgraded??

Madgus or Racerbruce, do you have the torque values for the fasteners involved in the front and rear shock replacement? I'd appreciate it if you could share. Much thanks.
