Tough weather here on the coast... it barely topped 70° today

Here's a little virtual vacation for all the guys stuck in the snowy northeast.

FYI, Point Dume State Beach near Malibu.

On the other hand, just in case Mid Westerners and Easterners think we've catching a break in terms of weather, while we may not have icy cold, but we sure have a very serious drought here in California. I'm wondering if I'll be able to shower this summer. Really. Or even have drinking water. It's worse than the severe drought of 1976. And that was a bad one--I remember carting shower water into cisterns and routing wash water into cisterns as well. Fun times.

Folsom lake is at 20% of capacity, lowest ever recorded, and we're under mandatory rationing already. One of the towns flooded when the dam went in in 1955, which is usually 90 feet under water, is completely exposed.

All we can do is make the best of it, and a great drive sure helps!

My driveway after I shoveled half of it. The storm has since dropped another 6" on it. Oy.

Yes, we have had record highs. No snow in the mountains though and no rain. It all got shipped off to the east.
