Experience with 42 Draft Designs exhaust parts ?

Pretty basic 'mod' - I just want new exhaust tips !

What I would like: "Nicer" but simple tips for stock muffler / back box on my 2006 E86 3.0Si. The seventeen year old OE parts are tired.

I have looked at tips from 42 Draft Designs (sold direct or through ECS). I would like to hear from anyone who may have tried their stainless steel exhaust tips - particularly the clamp-on choices for stock exhaust.

These are what I have looked at:

https://www.42draftdesigns.com/3-0-b...-2-5-clamp-on/

Thanks for your input !

Last time I used 42dd stuff was almost 20 years ago when I got my first VW (my first intro to modding, god I love / hated that 1.8T lol). But even back then their stuff was solid and well designed. But in general I think exhaust tips are such a rip off. Ever since the n54 guys started upgrading to oversized tips, a bunch of companies started cashing in on that.

For what it’s worth I had really good experience buying custom tips from both Summit Racing and eBay believe it or not. Not apples to apples but when I ran a custom exhaust on my old n52, I snagged 3” duals off eBay and it was the best fitting tips imo. Really fills out the bumper cutout nicely imo. Can’t find original pictures but see this post here (3rd picture down)

Oh yea make sure to double check the inlet diameter. 2.5” feels big unless you chopped off the muffler and running straight pipes but I would’ve guessed something closer to 2.25” inlet coming out of the stock muffler.
