Anyone else read this book?

I'm not trying to turn Zpost into Oprah's book club or anything here... but I read this a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Its great if you like endurance racing and 'cannon ball runs' and BMW E39 M5's and fun electronic toys that enable you to drive with no lights on thru the desert at 100+mph.

Just saw it on my shelf and thought i'd mention it to all.

Yup, I borrowed The Driver from a friend a few months ago. It's a pretty fun read and the pages almost turn themselves. Over the years I've collected about a dozen auto themed books. Some fiction, like the Burt Levy novels (the first one's were the best) and some non-fiction such as The Gold Plated Porsche and Cannonball. Those two were pretty good.

Any others that folks have read and liked?

Nah - not related to that movie. I Saw it too... kinda wish I hadn't actually. lol...

Yeah, its a lot about gumball-ing. What was great about the book was all the planning that went into what he did, and the electronics that he outfitted his car with. it was darn impressive. Seriously, and airplane spotter overhead and military grade shock dampening nightvision goggles??

Nice! its a page turner for sure. I might actually read it again, but i'm afraid of the mod's i'll want to start doing to my car after.
