Should I install new control arm and FCAB?
I'll be installing new springs and shocks/struts shortly. What's the general opinion on the life span of the front control arms and FCAB? The car is an '03 summer daily driver with 60k miles, do you think it's worth doing now while everything is apart instead of waiting until later?
Bimmerworld seems to have a pretty good deal on the FCA/FCAB all pre-pressed with powerflex bushings so that's the way I'd probably go. Any reason to do tie rods and end links too or do they tend to last a little longer? |

When I replaced the FCABs on my Z4, Bimmerworld recommended (and upsold me to) these:

I saw those and was thinking about it, but since I don't track the car I don't think I'd see much gain over something like the powerflex bushings. My other concern is NVH, since it is a daily driver.
I'm looking to tighten up the steering response while improving the ride on chicago's crappy streets. |

You don't have runflats do you? Ditch those before doing any suspension work.

As far as NVH, he said he put them on his wife's car too... I had the Dinan suspension on for a couple of months before I installed the treehouse units, and I didn't really detect any significant increase in NVH.
