No kidding! I had the worst sinking feeling in my stomach when I read that. Btw... I do like those wheels but I'm thinking I want more spokes. They do look good on the Z though.

Apex? Lol no!
Those are black CSL/ZCP replicas or the real deal. Apex looks alot like BBS RC and are similar to CSLs but still not even close Congrats to your new car!

The guys at Apex are very familiar with fitment on the Z4MC and will provide a good fitment for your needs. There is also TONs of information to be mined here.

- brake clearance if running a BBK - deeper tire sidewalls etc JMO, but 18s are still the sweet spot for track use.

Thanks a lot! Just what I needed to know. Not sure which route I'm taking. Mainly street. Like the lowered look but don't want to sacrifice ride quality. I'll have to give Apex a call.

The rest I don't know lol....the reason I wanted to go with 17 is so that I can run 265/35/18 with maxxis and have a little bit more clearance, but I guess I'm gonna stick with 18s It sucks that jrz can't get -3.5 camber on front without using the e36 shims...with mcs you can get that amount of camber without shims? With shims I lose a little bit of clearance to lower the front

I'm happy with that setup. I'm not a huge fan of running shims due to increased scrub radius

max caster sets the damper shaft back in the tower opening , which means it cant go as far in to get more camber. One solution is to trim a little of the tower opening to let it move further in. Ive seen that done on a few cars.

The sat nav on the Z4s already looked a little dated when it came out. I do like having things built-in, but in this instance, it is the one component of the car that has 'dated' /// so you may be better off not having it at all. Keeps the lines clean, and the car won't date. [The same is probably true of brand new cars today -- whatever screen technology they put in them, they will look dated in a few years time ].

A practical comment--I have the same stock wheels as on the CarMax photos. I try to wash my car every week, takes me as long to do the wheels as it does to do the rest of the car. I love the look of the CSL style wheels, but I would bet that they would be a mother to get clean. Fast car, good pads equals lots of brake dust.
Mike Miller is the technical guy at BMW Car Club of America. If you plan to keep the car a while, get his lifetime maintenance schedule (he will email it free to anyone) and follow it--do not follow the BMW schedule, which is designed to hold their "free maintenance" cost down for the 50,000 that they give a darn about the car. $34k sounds to me (I have been just surveying a little) in the ballpark for the car. They are going up in value with low miles, yours is a little more than low miles but not too much for an 8 year old car. My '07, daily driver, is at 104. |

Just downshift through all the gears from a mile away and avoid using brakes at all, win-win
