How Many of You Actually Rotate Tires?

For those with a square setup, do you actually rotate or bother flipping asymmetrical tires?

If I had a square set up with non-directional tires I would, I guess.

Yes, on the track car every track day. But for the z4m with square set-up, I switch inside to out side rather than front to back. This is because I have more camber in the front, and I have found that if I rotate and flip, I have less contact patch in the rear and more in the front which makes me uncomfortable.

Lesson learned: don't run more camber than you need so your tires will wear evenly from inside to outside.

But inside to out assuming non-directional, correct?

They are directional. Moving left to right and vice versa.

Staggered, not square set-up.

I dismounted and flipped my tires for even wear. Too much outside shoulder wear, wanted to prolong the tires past 2 seasons...if possible.

Yes it cost money. But it is either that or paying for another set of tires when I cord the outside. You need to pick your battles IMO

I understand that but someone said rotate side to side after each track event.

Not if you don't pay full price. It's $80 which is a lot cheaper than expensive new tires.

I flip my fronts to the back when the inside edges get visibly worn from the camber up front

directional tires, so no point in dismounting and reversing

If you know shop owner you can get it done for 40 or maybe even less if you go often enough. I get mine done for 40 (remove, mount, balance)

I rotate assymetric tires left to right every few track days.

And recently had my tire shop flip front tires inside/out on directional NT-05s that were wearing out driver side outer edge.

Outer edge? You need more camber.

I know. I am running about -2.3° and that has been good for street and track.
