FS: 2008 Z4 3.0si COUPE Space Gray

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
BMW enthusiast in the DFW region of Texas. I am interested in selling my 2008 Z4 3.0si Coupe. Space Gray over Dream Red. 32K miles. $30K. 6-spd manual/sport button. ALL OPTIONS including the Sports, Performance & Cold-Weather packages. This Z4 has NAVI, Sport seats with power/heat/memory. This Z4 is ALWAYS garaged & covered and is a fair-weather weekends-only machine. NO MECHANICAL modifications or issues. All maintenance has been completed by the dealer. I will probably get some negative comments from the BMW purists within this forum but I have subtly enhanced the esthetics of my Z4. As such, they are cosmetic only & ALL of the following can be easily removed: I have added Carbon Fiber (CF) vinyl-wrap to the roof, side mirrors and both front and rear valences. Rear diffuser/valence has a CF vinyl film and plastic ''strakes'' along its perimeter. Rear exhaust pipe-outlets have been replaced & enlarged. A Space Gray color-coded rear spoiler has been added along the glass hatch. This Z4 has been de-badged of ALL of the "3.0si" badges. All BMW blue & white ''roundels'' have been replaced with silver & black CF roundels. An ''M'' badge is on the rear hatch in monochrome scale (black, gray, white). 3" vinyl stripes have been applied along both the left & right front fenders in red, black & white. A matte-black front spoiler-lip has been added under the front bumper. CSL-style brake-vent "cans" added to the inside of the front valence. A Space Gray vinyl ''eyebrow'' has been applied over the Xenon headlights for an ''aggressive" look and both the front & rear reflectors have been covered with Space Gray vinyl film from Dan's Decals. Both the rear brake lights and the orange ''hockey-puck'' front reflector/turn-signals have been wrapped in a dark-gray smoked tinting film. CF wrap added to the front bumper strike-face. The brake calipers have all been painted red. The black plastic interior trim and the dark-walnut wood trim have been covered with the 3M Dinoc textured CF film. I have added Leather-Z products to the interior in OEM BMW Dream Red for a cohesive ''extended-leather" look. These enhancements include a center console arm rest, shifter boot & both left & right arm pads to the door-rest. The steering wheel has been covered in red & black leather with contrasting red lacing. This car has STAGGERED fit, 18" Drag wheels, which are the matte-black Type #37, in a BMW CSL-style. This Z4 has brand-new run-flat (RF) tires.

I forgot to mention that this Z4 still has 7 months left before the factory warranty expires. The front ''kidney'' grilles have been painted gloss black.

Actually, it is all a matter of taste. I wanted to differentiate my car from the other myriad of Z4's in the DFW area, both M and non-M. . A stock ''M'' badge has the M Motorsport colors, which is completely different than my single M badge. The stock M badges are also placed along both sides of the car and on the LEFT side of the rear hatch, where mine is on the right. I prefer to think of mine as the original ''M-Technic or M-Sport"line of BMW vehicles, which also have ''M" badges placed strategically throughout the car. Also, most everyone knows that the true M-Coupe has dual exhaust, the power-dome hood, more aggressive front end "fangs" and rear diffuser.

I don't have anything to say re the cosmetics because as you say it's all a matter of personal taste.

But you have me scratching my head with the suggestion there are a "myriad of other Z4's in the DFW area". Since the Z4's came out in 2003 I've attended quite a number of club meetings, track events in Cresson, autocrosses out in Mineral Wells and TMS, Cars and Coffee, etc and in all that time I bet I could count the number of 3.0si or ///M Coupes I've seen in DFW on one hand. In fact, two of the SA's at Autobahn had told me just a few months ago that between the two of them they can recall exactly 3 Z4 Coupes (both variants) ever being serviced there. Z4 Roadsters; they're fairly common. But Coupes? Hardly any or so it would seem. I probably haven't seen any more Z4 3.0si or ///M Coupes than I see of the Z3M Coupes, and you just don't get much more rare than that.

Hypocrites these days use ZHP knob on ///M cars all day everyday 24/7 a week, 365 days a year.
Then, one came out of the closet to voiced out their opinion regarding ///M badge on a non-M car.

What makes you think "M badge" is an upgrade?
It's an add on and some people use that badge to boost their mental confidence and ego.
It's safe to say people generally drive BMW with confidence, not shame.
That, my friend, makes the driving experience a difference.
Yes, fair enough, it doesn't help anything in terms of car's performance.

You mean the ZHP knobs with the M badge on them? I can't put an "M" shift knob on my M car? Are you high today?
You drive a Z4MR, don't you?
Aren't those cheaper than Z4 3.0i coupe on the market now?
Yeah, you definitely know a lot about "cheap".

For crying out loud, he was trying to sell his car here.
He doesn't need negative comments from strangers on the internet.

Do you even know what a ZHP knob is and where it came from?
Wait, do you even know what "ZHP" is??
It's amazing that your lack of general knowledge regarding these cars gives you so much confidence behind the computer screen to start questioning others' mental state.

BMW AG must be stupid, tacky, idiotic and has cheap taste for putting M badge on non-M cars in your opinions.
Hey, how about this one: M-Tech.

From what I can tell he came here to sell his car, not get opinions on what he has done to the car. I guess if someone comes here to get an opinion on brakes and we don't like the color of the car we can rip into him? I am guessing at this point you have made it more difficult to sell it when he never asked for any of it.

I personally could care less what he has done, regardless of whether we have the same tastes or not.

I never said anything about BMW badging non M cars; I again was talking about his damn vinyl everywhere, idiot.
For a person who called me an idiot, it's not very smart to post something like that on an internet forum.
For a person who called me an idiot, you surely didn't speak like a smart person.
For a person who called me an idiot, you surely don't really know a lot about the car you own.

You tagged someone's car (or part, or whatever you were referring to) as being cheap or cheap looking, where as many know you drive a cheap car.
S54 motor lasts up to 250,000 miles with proper maintenance.
13,000 miles is nothing to brag about.
Perhaps to each their own, soft top roadsters look cheap in 2012.
Butt hurt? Maybe yes, and maybe no. However, OP is trying to sell his car here.
Idiotic comment as such would hurt his effort to achieve that.

Knowing it all after what I posted doesn't really surprises anyone, where Dr. Google never goes anywhere.
E46 ZHP is not an M car, yet BMW AG put an M badge on its shift knob.
Comment?

For the record, I was quoting shakib when I started to mention the whole ZHP knob thing.
You jumped in to join the discussion and bailed like a party pooper.

I have zero problem with you posting my pictures online.
BMW community in Los Angeles knows me in person, rather than online.
But yes, I looked stupid in that last picture.
I still look 16 now, by the way.
However, for a person who got butt hurt and called me an idiot for numerous of time, is it smart to post something that way off topic on someone's for sale ad?

Regarding the WTB ad, you did not know how much I actually paid for the car.
I can't say it was a smart move to use that as an argument point.
The rest of the money went to modifying the car, which it ended up in SEMA 2010.
I sold the car and ride Yamaha now.

Dang, I didn't know you were this butt hurt.
I only said Roadsters M are cheaper than 3.0i coupe.
Never thought someone would put that much effort to find pictures of another dude.
I only did that if I were to find some hot chicks.
Now, look back and re-read what you just posted here.
A smart person wouldn't have gone too far off topic on someone's for sale ad like this.
This type of posts are the posts that only real 16 year olds would do.
Heck, some 16 year olds are more mature than this.

Come on, man...
Let the man sell his car, would you?
Any personal problems/attacks you want to launch, PM me.
