Actually the ESS S54 CFR series is designed to produce massive mid range power. The SC sizing and overall system design is engineered to create a massive powerband and not just peak top end numbers like for instance a Vortech or Rotrex setup typically does. ESS tried to maximize the powerband without exceeding the maximum power goal. ie make the "strongest" 500/525hp kit possible..
To give you an example, attached is the current CFR 500/525/550 SC unit boosted up a bit more and compared to a conventional centrifugal unit on the same engine/day. These tests are done on a lowered compression CFR700 engine as it would not be possible to run the power anywhere near the 542WHP number on a stock CR engine on pump fuel. If the 542whp setup was geared down to make the same peak number as the CFR it would lack massively in the torque department, it even does now despite a 52whp top range advantage! |
