Heck no. I just sold an Audi TTRS to get back into the BMW brand. Few manufacturers out there understand what a car is supposed to feel like behind the wheel, and that's entirely independent of power.

I think the only car that might convince me to give up the Z4M would be an Aston Martin.
Which would never happen, realistically, of course. I have been eyeing the new Corvette Stingray with great interest, however, and would strongly consider picking one up in a couple of years as a DD. I would not sell the Z4M though. |

You guys were right. I put my z4mc up for sale and bought a Mk6 Golf R in DSG with every single option (I still hadn't sold the z4mc). I had the .:R for 1 week, and a buyer for the z4mc and I just could not part with the z4mc. So I put the .:R for sale and sold it the following day.
Phew I was lucky I didnt sell the z4mc before I bought the .:R I don't think I'll ever be able to part with the z4mc, well not for some time yet. And probably only for a 1M Coupe.

Close call man! I've been so tempted to try out an .:R as a daily, but there's something holding me back. I'd rather buy my dad's E91 328xi. |

Don't do it. I use to have a Mk4 Golf R32 and that was great to drive (from memory it was over 5yrs ago now).
The Mk6 R just felt very restricted, ESP would kick in early and reduce power (which you felt), and the weight and feel of the steering was terrible around corners, so much understeer. It just didn't compare to the z4mc. It is however very quick and smooth for what it is. And it does feel tight and new. I'm sure I would have gotten use to it with time. But it just didn't give me that buzz or adrenalin rush I get when driving the z4mc. Nor did I want to turn back and look at it after I park it like I do with the z4mc, even after 3.5yrs of ownership. Damn you BMW, now I officially have the ///M bug and am going to have to buy another ///M in the future.

I don't have an //M, and mine isn't even a coupe. But I've already decided that only two things will get me out of my zed. Both are British (in spirit anyway) the F-type or an Aston Vantage v8 or v12.
Wife's grandfather is just about to pull the trigger on a F-type coupe so I'll review that when I get to drive it once it arrives.

If I had another car to be a DD like a truck or SUV that had cargo capacity, I would give up my M for a Morgan 3 Wheeler.
