looking forward to what kind of gains other people get on the meth kit. I'm probably going to order one too, but I'm afraid I'll end up losing top end power like fr8dog did with his higher psi pulley

im really looking forward to hearing about the water/meth kit, where did you guys install the take or did you use the wash bottle?? im pretty happy with the stock VT2 at the moment, i do feel we can make substantial gains by some of what ive outlined above :-)

im seeing rock steady water and oil temps, i would like a meth/water kit but really dont want something else to have to maintain really.... Im seeing REALLY nice AITs, england isnt really all that warm anyway, im climate is cool and damp, perfect for FI.......

Re the P/S pump, it shouldnt have come off i dont think for this install?? unless its different for RHD cars maybe?? I had some install issues i had to fix myself which was a PITA but sometimes you gotta just do it, the last thing you want is crappy oil everywhere.

yep boost gauge sorted out, the sensor was a factory defect.
i used the windsheild washer bottle, cleaner engine bay, more capacity, works great. relocating the powersteering pump is a must, donno how it was for ur car..

hi rabbit, i genuinely dont see what the p/s pump has to be moved??? the tank definatly but the p/s pump?? mines in its stock location?? also reviewing ESS's extensive instructions, their is no mention of moving or even touch the p/s pump??? maybe with my RHD model its not needed?? im not sure..........
the power steering pump is a fixed pullied system i dont see how it can be relocated?? are you sure dont mean the power steering tank??

Edit.... a quick email to Ess confirms the p/s pump is definatly not touched during this install at all????

wahhooo glad you sorted your boost gauge?? what boost are you seeing?? mine is 8psi @ 7900....... im looking forward to getting out in the car this weekend, high temps in the UK planned so i'll be running harder to see how i feel about the heat soak issue.

Rabbit, would definatly like some pics of your water/meth setup using the stock washer tank.... niiccee solution, your nozzle MAY be slightly to large as your 11.5s top end AFR are definatly alittle rich....water/meth will richen the mixture somewhat.

found a great deal on a new AEM kit locally, with 4 gallons of free "boost juice" 49/51 liquid. I'd like to install it in the trunk, for better weight distribution. Not sure if I can run the lines under the car or if I'll have to drill through my interior. I'll pick up the kit monday

how much is the Aem water/meth injection, dont forget the inline filter :-)
i love the way Fr8tdog welded a plate to his boost pipe to mount the motor....... any ideas on this tom??

imo use the washer bottle, dont forget the meth is actually a great cleaner ;-) it will still clear your screen no probs.....

again so far in this uk climate which is cold, chilly and damp.... my kit seems fine, looking forward to our mini heatwave due this weekend so i can put this thing through its paces.

yeah I'm still undecided if I wanna use the potentially more dirty windshield washer reservoir and use the more expensive water/meth to wash windows

I wish fr8dog would come back and drop some knowledge

I ran my nitrous lines from the trunk through a grommet in the middle of the trunk and to the drivers side along the fuel line and battery cable. I believe my diy nitrous install has some pics of that.

but as beedub said I would definitely use the windshield reservoir instead a of a separate tank for a cleaner install and less load on the meth pump. I'm currently planning a meth install for my x5 w/ the n55 motor and that's route I'm going.

BTW check out the e90 forums for member installs...

im sorry, i meant to say the resevoir not the pump. you cant really see much of the kit, the controller is the only thing you can see. im seeing 7 psi, you got the 8psi pulley with the kit?

to be honest i really dont know, all i know is its really cooling down the motor and curing it from heatsoak, yet people have proven 30whp from meth (the m3 guys). iv had the kit for almost a month now and never used it once on my windsheild, i wash the car every week and it doesnt see rain so its not an issue for me.

yeah my kit boosts to 8psi???? i emailed ESS about it and they said its fine, they said pullies arnt an exact science, sometimes you get an 7-8psi pulley, sometimes you get a 6-7psi pulley, sometimes you get bang on 7psi..... mine passes 7psi by aroung 7300 rpm????? its pulls VERY hard.... AFRs are perfect as per recommendations he made... so all seems well.

tom re loosing power with the higher pulley im guessing this isnt an issue, ess supplied me this pulley with a stock vt2-500, so guessing this isnt an issue, my car also made 450rwhp about 30hp more than most other vt2s, incidently that goes hand in hand eith the psi per HP figure ;-).... Ess have the actual charts for those runs, due to the slightly higher than quoted power we made we wanted to check things over..... the car made 507 @ the crank.

re the meth/water injection, i spoke to my tuner, they said am i aware of the meths corrosive properties??? basically meth WILL eat away @ coatings/plastics.... alittle search on google confirms this..........

im thinking about the inside of the cast manifold, and the hose couplers?? i have serious concerns over our engines injesting melted junk.......!!!!

I've heard about ethanol enriched fuels eating away at stuff, but not methanol injected at the intake :dunno:
