HOLY $HITE I'm in love!!!
Ok...I dont know whether to be embarrased or thrilled...I'm an avid car lover...Have admired BMW's for a very long time...Was all about purchasing a used E46 M3 or possibly a used E92 M3...I'm coming off of my current lease in 6 months and I change my mind are cars daily!!!
And then it happened...For the first time in my life I saw a BMW Z4 M coupe...HOLY SHIT!!! Why is this vehicle so intoxicating? I can't believe that with how much I know about cars (literally anyone I associate with contacts me with questions) that i had NO idea about the Z4 M coupe... Now I'm convinced I have to have this car...Tell me the wait will be worth it? I need it as a daily driver (commute is only 15 miles to work)... I love the exclusivity of it...I honestly have only seen 1 (and I live in an area with plenty of high class cars).... I love the way the E46 M3 pulls so I imagine this is even a bigger thrill with it being lighter... Anyways, just wanted to say hi and tell you that i envy you all...Anyone who can comment on the Z4 M coupe in comparison to other vehicles it would be greatly appreciated... Thanks |

I still remember my 1st test drive.
I knew instantly that the Z4M was the one for me.

Good luck on your eventual purchase. I love the thing. Pulls hard from 4,000 RPM onwards.
Mine's a daily driver and it's comfortable enough for my 15 mile round trip. It gets attention---sometimes a little too much. Gotta watch it. Not many mods for the car as compared with the E46 m3, but it's a low production car (1815 made for the NA market). You'll love it. Performance of a new 370z, at less price.

Z4 test drive
Yeah, test drive is a must. I'm sure you'll love the power.
Heck, I feel the same way about my little 2006 Z4 3.0si (not an ///M) It is so light and has so much more power than I have ever handled in a small car. Well balanced. Well built. Pull off the RFT's (run flat tires) ASAP. Thrilling! |

Isn't that the one by Richard Hammond of the roadster only--and it was in the middle of winter? I don't think I've seen a Top Gear review of the Coupe.

Jason Plato of 5th Gear does a review of a blue Z4M roadster in the Alps; it looks like winter or late fall weather.
Richard Hammond's Top Gear review is of a red Z4M roadster. Its hard to tell the time of year and I don't know the location. I know that my 3.0si absolutely stole my heart, so when Hammond says that the Z4M will do that - you better believe it. Allons-Y!!!

I'm trying to hold off on the Test Drive as I know I'll drive myself absolutely crazy waiting the full 6 months or so before I can pick one up...
I just can't believe how rare the car is...Why such a low asking price on used cars that are only 2 years old? Anything I'm missing in terms of reliability? Or just like any other BMW? And I've searched high and low for videos...I wish there was one with Jeremy Clarkson...But those others will do for now... Thanks everyone... |

Test drive!
I was the same way, though i'm sure your car knowledge is better than mine. I was in the market for a used E46, possibly E92, then the dealer showed me this...I didn't even need the test drive. IMO, I don't know how it really is, but I think the cars are so undervalued as there's no a big market for them, no matter how rare they are. give it a few years though...

I agree! I had a 3.0si coupe (actually I still have it but it's for sale) and once I test drove the M Coupe about a month ago I knew instantly that I needed to have one.

The MZ4 Coupe is the first car I've ever bought sight unseen and with no test drive. It is also the ONLY car I've ever paid more than dealer invoice for, in fact, I paid full MSRP for it.
As soon as they started taking deposit for it in 2006 I went to the local dealership to ORDER one. Waited 6 months for it (ordered in March, took delivery near the end of September). It is still one of the best pure driver's car I've ever driven outside of prepped race-cars and über exotics and Lotuses...And one of the few that is equally comfortable on a track as it is being driven daily.
