Convertible Top Fitment - Quick Question

Good evening all,

I found what appears to be a pretty good deal on a convertible top/motors/hydraulic lines/hinges off a totaled 2007 roadster.

Just wanted to verify on this forum that the top from a 2007 roadster will fit my 2003. From what I've found, I think I'll be fine but I wanted make sure before dropping $1k on this.

Thank you!!

I've not seen anything that indicates there's any difference in the top for any of the E85 models. The only change I'm aware of is the deletion of the posts in the storage compartment for the front latches to clasp to when the top is down. They were eliminated on the face lift models (2006 and later) but the top programming wasn't changed. The latches still close when the top folds down as if the posts were still there.

It sounds like you are buying the entire assembly, including the roof frame under the canvas. If so, try to confirm that there are no bends or twists in the roof frame and that it moves smoothly between the open and closed positions.

Thanks for the advice Huz-Z. Everything looked okay when I went to buy it, but I was unable to test the functionality as the front end of the car had been smashed and the battery had been taken out (owner was parting out the car).

Keeping my fingers crossed that all works well when I find time to install it!

One thing you may have to do is reshim the tracks that hold the gaskets for the top and rear of the door windows.

Do we have any pictures of this difference. I have an '03 and always wonder about this.
