Shipping a car from California to Florida

Okay guys, I commited to buy a Z4M from California. I plan on flying there to inspect, drive and send it back to Florida. I need a shipping company to send it back. Anyone know any good shipping companies that will ship?

I'm so excited!

Hope your purchase goes smoothly!

I've used Intercity lines to ship a car out of LA.

If you can, wait till decent weather to ship it. I bought an X1 from a BMW dealer in Virginia and had it shipped to Michigan. I watched them unload my car. My car was on the top row so to get to it he had to move the car underneath it off the truck first. Due to the framing of the truck he had to enter that car from the back door, and climb between the front seats into the driver seat. It was cold, slushy and salty that day so I'm sure he made a mess of that car. If that was my Z I wouldn't have been a happy camper.

I'm not sure how he'd climb through the back door of a Z?

It's about 2500 miles from LA to Miami, so a couple of days in your new car and what a great trip that would be. Cheaper than shipping and way more fun. Put the return airfare into fuel.

From info I've seen recently from people shipping the same trip you're potentially looking at $1,200-$1,500 on an open car carrier and about 50% more with an enclosed trailer.

The broker is now going to list your vehicle on a "national load board" to find and assign a driver that will pick up the car, probably paying that driver $600-700 to make the journey. If a driver doesn't accept it in a reasonable amount of time, likely because he's not getting paid enough, your broker might try to entice more drivers by dropping their commission and upping what the driver gets paid. If that doesn't work, you can cancel and try yet another broker. That new broker might want more money, but they might also have a bigger network of drivers to draw from.

This whole process is incredibly frustrating and time consuming. There is no easy answer, and it all depends on the drivers and what other shipments they have lined up to make the journey profitable. It took my car over a month to go from New York State to California, and I had to go through multiple brokers to find a driver that ultimately transported the car. In the end, it cost more than twice what you're paying, too.

Hope it gets there soon and is well cared for. Above all else, patience is the key.

Hope It goes smoothly...For shipping, why don't you place shipment on an auto transport marketplace like an https://www.autotransportcity.com you'll get bids from reliable and high rated Auto shipping companies.
I did the same for shipping my car from Ca to FL. do not forget to look a company profile before closing the deal.

you're going to get shit quality shipping for $900, no questions. and its definitely going to be open carrier.

expect to pay $2000 for an enclosed carrier from a respectable company. intercity lines is the only company I would use.

i've done it before, and found a husband/wife team that did a great job, but they've retired, and I wouldn't roll the dice on a broker.

For most, the opportunity to do a one-way transcontinental road trip in a quality sports car just doesn't come up. So you'll be trading that experience for spending money to get stressed out for weeks on what damage may or may not happen to your new ride. Sounds like an easy decision.
