Dead Battery or other?

I am thinking/hoping for a dead battery but thought I would throw this out there.

I believe I am on my original battery (2007). I have not driven the car since Monday but had no issues with anything, no long start, no extra turn over, etc.

Today I can't even get any of the dash lights on, the trunk wont open, etc.

Can a battery really drain completely that fast (maybe this is something the AGM does?)

Most threads I read say weird electrical issues happen first so I thought I would ask before spending on a battery just to find it is something else!

Yes...Batteries can just died like that without any warning signs. That's the reason why I would always replace my batteries on a 4 or 5 years cycle regardless.

they usually die just out of the blue when it gets colder out. one cold night and it doesn't start the next morning. that has happened to me with my other cars, and usually around 5 yrs old on the battery.

Thanks guys. The battery in my truck died this year but still had enough juice to get the lights on. Just wanted to double check!

So it turns out that something fell between the passenger seat and door and was pressing one of the seat adjustment knobs constantly.

I heard continuous clicking when I put the new battery in and figured it out.

Oh well, I guess I was about due for a new battery anyway. H6 AGM 760 CCA, 950 Cranking Amps, 3 year replacement warranty. Much higher rating than my previous battery, same size.

$135 after tax. Not too shabby.
