Engine noise (2.5si e85 N52)

I need you guys help:

not warter pump
not vacuum pump
not dynamo and bell wheel
not from the engine hood
It seems come out of oil filter by echometer but How is that possible?
everything is fine but the flickering noise!

does the sound vary with engine RPM?

I'm guessing idler pulleys.

The dealer said the two video are diferent. The second one sounds like from machinery Because it is regular with engine RPM.But mine like from some vale. I came back home to wait untill the sound get more clear.

That's the notorious N52 lifter tick problem. I had the same thing. The dealer swapped out the lifters and the ticking went away.

I read that the ticking will probably come back if the heads aren't replaced as well. Problem with that is BMW won't replace the heads unless ticking returns after lifter replacement. I've only driven about 2500 miles since lifters were replaced and I haven't had any ticking since.

There's a huge thread on it covering years of information. Some owners have been able to get dealers to replace lifters and heads. Others just lifters. Others none at all. Here's the thread:
