Service history
So my local dealership won't even read me my 2006 Z4M service history...very irritating, but I guess if they're under the gun from BMW I understand.
If anyone has access or could provide this information please PM me and I'll be glad to compensate you for the time and effort. Not trying to do anything shady but I would like the service history of the vehicle I own. Thx. |

If service was done at the dealer there's a chance Carfax or similar night give a view into that. I've been able to "see" a pretty good picture on cars I've owned.

Try a different dealer, or leave a case of beer in your trunk that you tell the service manager you'd happily see replaced with some printouts.

It is the most insane policy any BMW dealer wouldn't give you the service history for a car you OWN. What would be secret about it? They can remove any contact info and just tell you when and what was done. Mine did it for me when I bought my car.

After I bought mine the previous owner was able to get it from his dealer and mail it to me (he bought another Z4M right before selling his to me). Depends on the dealer. Guessing Service Advisors that also think this is a stupid rule just give it out. Probably easier to get it when getting some work done there.
"So I need to pay you $X for the work? Seems really high, can you at least help me out with information on my car?"

Ha! I like it. But sadly I don’t see it happening with these folks. No other dealer in a reasonable distance to try.

There’s not a lot of info on my car fax…I tried that route first. It’s clean and states service was done here and there, but no mention of a 1,200 service etc. which I hope is merely an omission.

I have had this issue on BMW motorcycles. They cannot supply you with the hard copies as they have the owner at the times phone number and address, (legal BS), but they should be able to read the service history to you. I have never heard of one that would not.
Of course (more legal BS) things may have changed. Marc
