shift mechanism

ive grown used to the shifter in my z4m coupe but wonder if its possible to lubricate the shift lever mechanism or bushings without teardown? any advice is appreciated. had a golf gti years back and dealer did this regularly.

Lubrication isn't really an issue with our cars.
The bottom side is so well shielded that there is no exposure to dust and dirt to contaminate things.

Is there something in particular that's not working right or are you just thinking about preventive maintenance ?

The plastic cup the pivot bearing sits in will wear out LONG before the factory packed grease runs dry.

no real issue- just wondering if there was a lube to ease shift effort- when i drive my e46 330i it doesnt feel like its made by the same company!
