you must be old or live in the sticks. Damn that's cheap.

literally just got off the phone a few minutes ago with state farm, added my mcoupe to the policy. Fully coverage 500 collision, 100 comp = 116/month for me - for mc only. Thats with it listed as my pleasure car at 4k/yr if i'm not mistaken. Additional is an e30 as my daily, and an 08 ducati 848 full coverage $1000 ded. for another 180/month i believe between the two.

Just edited my last post... but yes, you also confirmed my last post

no documented tickets for me either. couple 3111a's (the most lenient one you can get for any general infraction if they want to be easy on you and teach you a lesson without giving you any points for a moving violation), but they don't show up on your record, ever. So in essence, no tickets.

Ok, I stopped by and refused to drive it and told them to work the numbers before I even think about driving . . .

Don't want to have it and then get reamed.

I looked up the MFG date on the M Excel sheet and it is 4/25/2006, so she is out of warranty by a month, so does that keep it from being CPOed?

Steve

It is service date not Mfg date that determines warranty. It could have been built in April but not put into service till August. For example my 2.5 was built in november of 04 but not put into service till August o5. The warranty ran till August 09 These number are on the key. The Sa can read it and give you a history of all maint BMW has performed. Not sure of the CPO part.

Ran an autocheck for you (I still have unlimited runs for another month or so).

In service date looks to be 06/2007 so you've got warranty for another year. The 313 odo reading when the car was first registered is a little fishy though. Unless there was just a shitload of test drives, my guess is that they might have declared it sold around the turn of the year so that they could get it off their books for 2006. Someone at the dealership might have just driven it a bit before it was finally sold to a customer. When I was first shopping in Aug 2007 there was a 2006 Z4 coupe that hadn't sold and was being offered dirt cheap, but it was put in service at the beginning of 2007 so 8 months of the warranty was already gone. The dealer will be able to pull the in service info for you, like mousitch said.

Looks to me that it is a Mid-Missouri (jeff city)car so I'd think Machens would have a good idea what has been done too it. Id really check that 1200 mile service. In fact if they lower the price and you are interested in purchasing it, I'm sure we can come up with a whole list of things for them to check out for you.Like engine mount bolts..ETC. Also I'm sure they can clear up the mystery to the 330 miles. It's not like there are very many M's in town. With this one there are three TIKO.

Story I got is an old guy in JC had it, had back surgery and could not get in and out without pain. Did not want to give it up...

$4640 diffference. I am still not convienced that I should do it. As I know me and I will want it CPOed and I will want to extend the service (because I did that with the one I have now). So that almost doubles the difference.

All that and the Zed I have is the color combo that I really wanted. White with Red leather. The blue is great, the interior is nice, but it is just not the same as what I have. That is so horrible, because the M is so much more in everything else :-)

Steve

When saw it before they had it for sale it had personalized plates on it "GOALIE". Well if your happy with the 3.0 stick with it. There will be other M's around. White too. Make sure your happy and just don't buy it cause it's an M because I know you really sought out the alpine/red before.

color combo is always important! I wanted alpine/imola like my e30, but I settled for alpine/black since I think it looks nice too and they're hard to find. Also got a decent deal as long as everything checks out when it's delivered.

Regarding your extended warranty - I thought I remember reading if you sell the vehicle before your purchased extended warranty is over they prorate what you paid and reimburse you for the time unused. If so, that would help offset some cost right there...

The price is way out of line IMO. I paid $29K(private seller) a little over a year ago for my 06 with 9,600 miles on the clock. That car should be lower than $29K to sell in this market. The extended leather is a nice feature though.

$4640 difference with your trade? That doesn't seem bad at all. No BMW dealer was interested in giving me more than $21-22K for my trade in. Ended up getting more at a non-BMW used car dealer.

Agree that color combo is very important though. The engine/performance is one factor, but you look at your car even more than you drive it to the limits where the M really makes a significant difference.

^+1 on the colour, especially if it's going to be a long term relationship.

I love the color of my car. In fact, I could stare at the thing all day, just parked in the driveway. The neighborhood is like a desert of Corrolas, Civics, Accords and assorted minivans surrounding an Oasis of Awesome. More than once I've asked the wife to take it for a spin so I could watch it driving down the street.

Silly? Absolutely!!! But I love it!

Don't get me wrong, I love the Blue, it is just the black interior. If it were grey...

I have really talked myself out of trading at this time. Their price is high and I am pretty sure I paid too much for the one I have now. This is a very nice car, but a quick look at the outside and I think my Zed with twice the miles is in far better shape.

I think I will wait and see.

If/when you get an aftermarket exhaust this is a MUST do.
It's amazing how good an exhaust sounds with the car driving by under load.
