Things our Z4's do that we did not know . . .

New to the Zed world and was wondering what you found out after a while that yours could do...

Like press the unlock button three times and hold and the top drops.

What do I not know :-)

You can also open and close the top by holding your key in the lock and turning right or left. Hill assist with the clutch comes in handy too. It will hold the brake for two seconds if on a hill and the clutch is in so you don't burn it up. Needed this when I was sixteen. I also know some tips to turn down the annoying speed sensitive volume on the stereo. CDV removal would be my next step depending on how you feel about "operating" on your new car. I did it and love it.

Pressing and holding unlock on the fob will roll my windows down (probably windows and top for converts).

Turning the key in the lock is the only way to roll them back up without getting in your car though.

Some things I didn't know off the bat is that there is an aux port on 2007 and newer under the radio and the mirrors fold in/up.

mousitch... the speed sensitive volume is merely a setting in the radio. There are no "tricks" involved. If there is I know a handy trick on how to fade and increase the bass

"Tip" vs "tricks" Hmmm. Not sure were you got trick out of that. Anyway the OP lives literally twenty doors down and I thought I'd just share some info.

sorta sucks that the mirrors don't fold automatically though. feels ghetto having to walk out of the car, fold them up / down everytime i street park. lol

All that cool stuff with the remote didn't go into the cars until April 04. No such love for my March 04, my passenger window wont even auto up.

mousitch, I apparently read what you had typed wrong. My bad, I wasn't trying to be mean, just poking fun... as I try to do as much as possible. My girlfriend hates it.

If you see AUX, the port is there somewhere. Got an Owner's Manual?

It's right under the climate control. Took me a while to figure out where mine was as well!

There are some good things about the older cars: no weight sensor in the passenger seat continuously and annoyingly warning your non-existent passenger to buckle their seat belt when a heavy backpack or other object is placed in the seat (due to the limited storage *******, or the airbag turning off when a lightweight object is placed in the passenger seat. I bought "Fred Flintstone's car" so that I wouldn't have mom yelling at me all the time about what I could and could not do in my sports car. I'd much rather have to to hold the window button down on the passenger side than deal with all the "safety" features of the newer cars. Really, am I THAT stupid?? Sometimes I think BMW is turning into Ford...

Yeah, it is on the bottom of the overhang part below the temperature control knob. It is hidden so you can't see it unless you are near the floor looking up. You should be able to feel it with your hand though if you follow the dash from the temp knob to the cig lighter.

Eh, we SAY we hate it, but I ended up *marrying* the guy that has continuously been poking fun at me since 1986. Not sure what that says about me... Oh well.

I NEVER would have known where mine was if SPG hadn't had a cord plugged into the AUX outlet when I test drove the car! Sheesh!

Press and hold the left most button on the radio and then it has something about something...

Oh hell I have been drinking, let me go sit in the car and I will figure it out...

Strike that it is the music note button second to last on the left, hold it in and it will say speed something then you can adjust it up and down with the last and thrid buttons.

Steve
