Buy or Pass?

Hey guys,
I'm looking to purchase a Z4M soon and have come upon a car that fits my price and mileage. The car is being sold by a BMW dealership and has only 13,000 Miles. Problem is it's not CPOed and the reason behind it is because the previous owner only did a 1200 mile oil change and garaged his car for 3 years without an oil change. The car is a 2006.
Is it going to be a problem in the future? The price is right for me, warranty ends in august of this year. The dealership did do a complete oil change when they got the car.
Buy or Pass?
Thanks!

30K and no CPO? I would pass for an 06. For 30K range, you should be looking at 07 or 08 range.

Yes, I'm still shopping around but the mileage on this car attracts me the most. Do you guys think this is going to be a big problem down the road?

Is this car in Tulsa? If it is the one I am thinking of, it has scratches and dings, and needs a new rear tire. I got them down to $29.5k by email so I sure they can go lower.

I passed on the car for the very reason you are asking about. So even if this is not the same car my point still applies.

I live in Tulsa and have been monitoring this car. I haven't seen the carfax but I think the reason it's not a CPO is as stated above. The LIST price has now been reduced to $27.9k, which is pretty cheap for an M coupe with under 13k miles. I don't remember it having many significant cosmetic issues though. The one thing that turned me off is that it did NOT have heated seats--I think the prior owner was in Florida.

To be fair the scratches etc are very minor. The dealer told me the car was from Texas. They bought it from the owner as a direct purchase.

But used M Roadster have been selling for less than Coupes, so not an equal comparison.

Yah it's 27.9k now. Did you end up testing driving it? Was there any problems you noticed?

3 months of warranty left on a car that couldn't be CPO-ed doesn't sound like the best idea, especially since for a few thousand more you could be looking at a 2007 with similar mileage with a year left on the warranty. Then again, I think could probably opt to buy the extended warranty before the factory warranty runs out for around ~$2500.

Personally, I'd pass. There are plenty of other cars out there right now.

Yes, I drove it. No noticable problems. However, the engine didn't seem as smooth and quiet as some S54's I'd driven. I drove one in Lewisville, Tx that sounded a little better. Are you from this area?

Engine not smooth and quiet may indicate broken engine mount bolts.
