Navigation Update

Does anyone know why there is more than one navigation update listed on BMWs site? I think its time to update my nav but I dont know which one Im supposed to order.

different cars have different systems. Z's use the high version. I have the 2007 and 2010 versions and honestly dont notice a difference

Besides the map update, I thought there was also a way to update the software?

See post 10 in Ron Stygar's thread link. No way to update system software--and not likely there ever will be.

There are updates to the software, but unless you need to make the accept screen go away on it's own, you want the perspective mode option, or you want a custom night mode color set, there really isn't any reason to.

Hmm...guess I either misread that other post or it was inaccurate... Where would you get these updates if you wanted night or perspective mode?

your 07 might already have it

To turn on perspective mode, from the main menu of your navigation screen select "settings", then press and hold the MENU button for 8 seconds. Using the left scroll button scroll down to Perspective and turn on

But the best place for information on the nav software is Xoutpost

You can purchase it from BMW. (version V32, index y)

No, Im still unsure. But its winter now so Im going to wait until spring, get it detailed and put it on the market officially. If I can break even on the loan, i may let it go.

My apr is only 3.9%...i rolled in 8k in negative equity from my trade in so my payments are $1,100 without insurance. I owe 23k on the loan. 20 months of payments left. Im still on the fence. I love the car but the payments are too big. We'll see.

I think you can get nav software/firmware (not DVD map updates) from Xoutpost.com.
