Front Control Arm Bushings diy?

Hello all,
After getting a quote from BMW for $850 to replace both bushings, I'd like to do it my self but am looking for a DIY guide...

I can't see it being difficult job, just like some quick info..

Any Help?

850 for FCABs, that's crazy.
- drop the structural bottom plate
- two bolts to drop the lolly pops
- a puller to pop the FCAB off of the control arm
- a press to pop the bush from the lolly ( many parts stores have loaners )
- reverse the process.
No alignment required.

Good luck. They're back ordered everywhere, even Germany.
I ordered a set from getBMWparts June 27th.
No word yet on arrival.

Really? BMW said they could have the parts in 2 days, but I don't want to pay $280 for the parts..

JM2C but I don't understand why OE?
they don't last worth a damn.
My right side was completely torn at very low miles.
The SuperFlex are far superior.

^WHS ... he installed mine

I have no issues with the SuperFlex bushings and highly recommend them as a viable replacement to OE.

My original OEs are fine at 90k miles.
Figure if I put in a new set at 100k, I'm good for another 100k.
I wanted the full lollipop so I wouldn't have to deal with pressing out/in.

I paid $125 for the pair. Of course, I don't actually have them.

27K miles.

The problem with OE is that with the offset, there is very little rubber on that side, so it tears.

Have you had a close look on the narrow side of the offset.?

The two sets that I have changed out were both torn in the same place.
Its not easy to see unless you examine closely.

I have one other set to change for someone else..... it will be interesting to see if he has the same issue.

I'll give them a closer inspection this weekend, while I'm under there making sure my trans mounts aren't dissolving.
