Locktite is not recommended where it gets heated.
Locktite will actually act like a lubricant under heat.
There may be some hi temp variants available though.

IMO this whole nordlock washer thing is overplayed.
The issue from the factory is that they were not torqued properly.
Just put them in with the regular washers,,,, torque properly and you will be fine.

Go onto an E46 M3 forum and ask how many people have this problem.
They won't know why you ask, because they don't have this issue.
....theirs got torqued properly at the factory.
,no locktite, no nordlocks .

I should add, that I did mine a while back with just the regular washers.
I put a paint marker on the bolt head to monitor any movement.
There has been none.

According to the SIB was excessive heat during assembly to the right side, causing it not to be torqued correctly.

The nord-locks are probably not required for the engine bolts. I still recommend them because I put them on my strut to firewall braces, and they're still perfectly tight after 1.5 years, while before I had to re-tighten them periodically. So I know they work as intended.

LOL... yeah, they had to come up with some excuse.
The randomness is what is strange.

The Nordlocks are certainly a great product
I looked briefly but had trouble finding one with a large enough seating area.
IIRC some did find a match though.

I think I got the part number from bills web space, it's in my mod list though. Got them from McMaster-Carr.

Got these VT mounts (road version) installed today. These VT mounts are paired with my previously installed RE transmission mounts (no SSK). Initial impression is pretty much on par with everyone. Loving the more direct shifting action! It does live up to the hypes! However, there is definitely a slight increased in vibration, but only ever so slightly. It also raised my engine slightly as I can see the air tube being a tad bit closer to the strut brace. The minor raise in engine position could also be due to the worn OE mounts, although, the OE mounts appear to be in fairly good shape...but who knows

As a side note, I noticed that the rubber portion of the passenger side mount is slightly more compressed than the driver side after installation, but only by a tiny amount. Anyone else noticed this? Just being a nit pick.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with this mod Thanks to all for providing the needed nudge in getting me to do this

That's it...no more mods...at least for the rest of this year...famous last words

I remember the famous oil spray bar banjo bolts issue on M30 engines. The fix was a new bolt from BMW, which came with a dab of blue Loctite on the thread. It coped fine with the cylinder head temperatures.

Yes, but E46 M3 was manufactured in Regensburg / Germany, while Z4M came from Spartanburg / US. However, the drivetrain was built in Germany. The question is: were the engine support bolts torqued by Hans or by John?

Just to be clear since I wasn't able to find the part number on Realoem...are we talking about replacing items 3 and 10, plus washers?

You guys keep breaking my piggy bank.

Which version are most of you getting, Competition or Road? I'm concern it will transfer more engine noise to the cabin, my trans mounts are already loud enough.

The vast majority of people are getting the road version. You can't go wrong with the road version, they will work with all setups.
If your FI and track a lot then you can get the Competition mounts. With those; however, you will get higher NVH at idle.
Either way you go, you can buy the other compound insert for around $60 if your not satisfied.
