Z4 is a girl car now
With the new redesign, I always thought how kinda feminine and un-interesting it looks now, not aggressive AT ALL and completely loses the feeling you get from the previous Z4, particularly the coupe, which has a very cool menacing hunched down look.
Apparently I wasnt far off the mark, it wasnt until today I found out the entire redesign, interior and exterior was done by 2 WOMEN. LOL |

And its the SLK market that is much more profitable and flourishing, therefore, why BMW is gearing the new Z4 to that market with a hard top convertible.

There's hardly any press coverage of the E89 that doesn't point out the car was designed by two women. I don't see the new Z4 as a chick car - in my experience, women prefer 4-seat convertibles. |

I think the two ladies did a nice job but the Z4 is now a totally different car. I believe our models of the Z4 competed directly with Porsche and now I feel that BMW is targeting the Mercedes crowd. I would never purchase the new Z4. I'm a 7 time BMW owner and if I was shopping for new convertible BMW would have lost me as a customer. Plus, the ass of the car looks like something Toyota would have produced!

I saw one in person around here for the first time this weekend and it is a decent looking car, just not for me. I am more of a sports car person... guess Porshe will be my next move

Yep, I really liked the new design of the car but after reading all the press, seeing the car in person, looking at the price...I decided to keep my ///M and add a Porsche to the garage. Best of both worlds.

well... I will be keeping an eye out for one of the 08 M coupe lease returns in a couple years. I would rather take that than a new 2011 model.
(plus only pay a third the price) did I just say 2011? I must be getting old cause isnt 2011 the far distant future where theres flying cars and we all have barcodes tattooed on our wrists? |
