New to me Z4
Hello, I just purchased an '04 Z4 2.5i yesterday and so far I like it. I'm not new to bimmers, so it performs as expected. Where can I find some style 108's-either OEM or replica? The wheels that are on there seem to be a bit too wide and clunky.

No, can't tell. They have a BMW sticker of some sort over the center cap. I feel like the offset may be wrong. I haven't taken the wheels off yet to find out what the offset is. I believe the PO has the wrong tire sizes though, 245/35 19 on the front and 275/30 on the rear. I see several "bite" marks on the tires. Do those sizes sound right to you? What wheels do you have?

Your setup sounds aggressive, but should fit without eating up the tire edges if the inside fender lips are not sticking out. If you were to keep them, I'd roll the fenders. If they're no-brand 19s, they're at least 28lbs each, and really hurting your performance. I'd put them on ebay and get some light weight 18s

And that's what I'm thinking- a lot of extra weight. I am looking at maybe 18 or 19 in the Miro's or style 108's. I think the 18" 111's would look nice on there. I'd rather not keep them, and since they need tires, I figure now is the time to decide.

Congratulations on the car - I'm sure you'll have a ball with it. Sets of 108's occasionally pop up for sale from someone looking for a change - keep an eye on the classifieds, ebay, etc.
Personally, I think they are the best looking wheel on the Z4 - but as they were a big part of why I purchased my car I'm terribly biased ... |

Ok, I just checked and the rear wheels are 19x9.5 et 20. The weight was 54.3 lbs including tires. If I'm not mistaken they were using an incorrect setup.
I tried to take the front wheels off, but two of the bolts were on so tight I couldn't budge them. I'll have to take them to someone with a compressor. It's a shame the tires are in such poor shape, I would like to drive the car around-don't want to risk a flat though. Edit: I scored a set of Style 107's on craigslist and put those on there for now. It looks and handles much much better. I'll put up an updated pic later. Now on to the rest of my mods (or repairs-as the case may be). Last edited by dbow2000; 11-30-2011 at 09:10 PM.. |

275s on a 2.5i? I wouldn't run that unless my M was blown.

I definitely agree. The 107's that are on there now are using the factory recommended tire sizes and the ride is night and day different. I kind of like them, but I may still get the Miro 111's with 265 rear and 235 front.

Surprised 19x9.5 et 20 fit in the rear. Those are the specs of the Miro 111s I have on ebay right now, and everyone said they will only fit the M. Did they stick out past your rear fenders?

Yes, they did stick out. From a bird's eye view you could see the tops of the tires and rim about a quarter of an inch.
