USA spec Z4m no EGT probe?
Just cruising the realoem site, as my indi just called me and told me i have the wrong egt sensor, ordered from turners, and listed there is the same for the z4m as the e46 m3 s54..
i just checked real oem and its not even listed under the USA spec car.. don't you guys have one? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...58&hg=18&fg=10 its number 8 on the link...

We have one. But it's in the headers, not the section I cat.

its a little confusing with #8 on the N.Amer graphic.
It looks like they just used the same graphic for both Euro & N.Amer As mentions N.Amer EGT is in the manifold. 11787831624 If you drill down in Real OEM with Euro selected, you get a listing for #8; 11787836452 not sure if the sensor itself is different, but I imagine the cable length would be longer for the Euro.

ok, this is a drama.. the plug is also different (yep , u guessed it) it doesn't fit on /my/ z4m… i wonder if the actual sensor is the same, i.e. in rearing values etc, as i can of course MAKE it fit by stripping the plug.. so i have in my hands a bloody US egt probe for my Euro z4m.. bloody hell…
will it work if i make it fit? cheers

As a thought experiment I would think it would work. Basically it's a temp probe to measure heat.
I can't say with 100% certainty that's it's a perfect replacement. But I do know that folks have relocated the US one when using Euro headers and Euro cat (or by modifying US section I to relocate the O2s and EGT). No problems reported. Is it optimal? No. But it probably will do the job. |

Yeah.. Thanks guys.. (InT and Finn) I kinda thought that., though my indi seems to think otherwise.. Hopefully he can find a plug and swap over the probes so I won't have to pull the plug on the car.. Not willing to un-oem the cars wiring loom.
It's still pretty cold outside, so driving without egt probe shouldn't be an issue. Interestingly enough, no cel or anything lites up without said probe.. Any thoughts? |

Trippy, I think this is actually resulting in the bank 1 rich mixture code ive had since ive owned the car. Will be intresting what the code scanner says once I plug this puppy in. And yeah, never had a cel. AND the car runs beaitifully ... lol.
