Anybody has cf driveshaft

and id love a CF one... what exactly are the gains ?

I've had them on other platforms. Negligible gains in terms of reducing mass in the driveline but there's an inherent safety increase should you experience a failure since it'll turn into a broom....

Long time ago a shop didn't tighten well one of the bolt and the bolt ended up making the driveshaft hole bigger.
Right now it's safely tighten but I will need to replace soon.

There's going to be a group buy for one on m3forum soon but is for the e46 m3. I think there might be an option that they will make it for other chassis' too. The thread is currently in the e46 m3 section.

It doesn't fit. I checked before and they are different.

Yep, verified. I'm contacting the guy in charge to see if they can make the driveshaft for us at the group buy price... let's hope we hear some good news.

So he replied... he's willing to make it, but doesn't have a sample on hand to take measurements with.

Anyone has an old driveshaft lying around?

He will only fulfil orders from the original group buy for the E46 guys, and is unable to advise when he can get production going for subsequent orders.

ACPT are reputable for carbon drive shafts as well, however prices are significantly higher...

That post you linked is kind of obsolete now. Less than a week after the group buy was changed to an open book and not limited to first 20 since they can get more cf tubes now even though still for e46 m3.

They are investing equipment that should be ready sometime later this year. Can get custom for our m coupe then.

On a side note my deposit is in and can't wait to get it! I will report back after it arrives with pictures and review how it feels installed on my m3.

The link was provided to share the background story. I've been communicating directly with the guy in charge from YCW through email, and he clearly stated that his priorities were on the e46 orders. No estimate for custom orders. End of the year is a pretty long wait...
