Tunning????
Hey everyone, i just moved to the U.S.A California and i was able to get my hands on a nice Sliver BMW z4 3.0i N52. I was wondering if anyone knows a good dyno place around the bay area that i could stop by at, and get a nice tune!
FYI: I am a complete noob to all this so i am trying to learn as much as i can!!! please!please!please! if you know a place, or somewhere that i could start looking please post THANK YOU!!! |

I can not really help in your area. The 3.0 si is already a 3.0 on steroids. I had a ecu tune added to mine and was only able to get another 18 hp amd 25 fp of torque out of it. I dinoed before and after.

I don't personally know of any place locally that does drop-in tuning for stock engine management system. You may have to look into a standalone if you want to be able to tweak or fine-tune on the spot. Let alone find a reputable tuner that knows your engine and has lots of tuning experience, etc.

I think only ECU tune ("mailbox order" ones), coupled with intake, headers, and exhaust piping is all you can do to make your car faster. Then maybe LSD differential if you want to take the car to the track. There might be a dyno day coming up in the near future, so check the California section often

Ecu tune, probably not the correct term, They remove the Ecu and change the lines of code that controls the program of how the engine runs, timing, air and gas mixture, shift points (Auto trans) and the like. They can remove speed limiter, IMHO never remove the rev limiter ( adjust is good ).

The company I used is down here in Orange county. You tell them what you have and they create a flash tune for you. It is the type of thing where you remove the stock ECU and send it to them and they flash the software and send it back to them. I will go find the card and PM you.
