last time i pulled the part numbers for the ESS tensioners they were a toyota part.
how may miles do you have on this kit as i wouldnt expect these to break in this way??
can you use your ESS warranty to get them to replace?? may be worth a shot?

The 'The one with the 3 silver bolts and rusted middle' is the waterpump pully. If this was an E46, the fan would be threaded onto this pully.

Part no. eight (8): http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...80&hg=11&fg=35

my kit didnt get a new water pump pulley?? you'd be underdriving it with our spec s/c pulley.

I went and measured the oem water pump pulley it is 4-1/2 '' outside diameter,The ESS one is 5-1/2" outside diameter.
So my water pump would spin slower than yours.....I think.

i only got crankshaft and s/c pulley.

im guessing they are using the waterpump to change the ratio now instead of the crank sizing, either way i would NOT be happy with unde rdriveing the water pump at all.

well, f&*^^&ck me, the reason the hydraulic tensioner broke, is because the bracket holding it broke off with the bolt. I'm hoping this bracket isn't part of the engine block, and isn't too expensive....

Anyone know the part number?

Since I cannot see the area that well....

I wonder if it is the timing case cover?

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...89&hg=11&fg=10

Or maybe the Aggregate support with oil filter?

Time to check the junk yards. Looks like the part is used in the M3 and Z3M (S54).

i dunno i just had a good look at mine? the OFH is a properly solid piece of metal, im guessing yours may have been a bad casting from the factory, ive never seen a failure like this on an s54..... it sucks your one of the unlucky ones.... i know moneys tight as well right now so im feeling for you, it looks like the s/c and main hardware will need to be removed to do this job :-( what a freaking nightmare!!!

good luck tom, if i can in anyway help with this let me know, i can source this piece pretty easily used, personally id buy a new one.

I believe the long bolt on my hydraulic tensioner got loosened, it is NOT an OEM piece, which was probably the cause. I don't know who the f*(&ck put a cheap ass bolt in there. Since it loosened, the vibration from the supercharger and the rest of the belt put too much strain on it, and it cracked off, crashing into my waterpump pulley.

22022 and shipkiller, thank you very much with your help in hunting this down. VAC motorsports in Philly will probably hook me up with a good used one. Just a freak accident with this, that had a snowball effect.

Yes, the supercharger will have to come out to service this... There goes my mod money
