Also, what you just put there are peak numbers. I guarantee you at anything but a complete stop (I am not quite good enough to go full boar out of a complete stop) that me on an R6 would kill anyone in a Z06. I don't have to shift as much and my power band is near it's peak for most of the time (between 6.5K and 14K RPM at least). Plus, I can easily shift in half the time without use of a clutch and I doubt a standard Z06 could do that.

Anyone can argue numbers, but sadly, those don't win races. And drag? You think an R6 has more drag than a Corvette?

From "Fast Bikes" magazine 2008 R6 stock
0-60: 3.31s
0-100:6.57s
0-140:13.17s
Standing 1/4 mile: 11.07s @ 131.49mph
Standing mile: 28.63s @ 167.93

From EVO magazine Z06
0-100mph = 8.5

Or head here for a bunch of compiled magazine times with a fastest 0-60 of 3.4 http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...06z06perf.html

Without the complete stop the Vette would not have a contact patch advantage and the difference would be much bigger.

Says 417lb wet weight. I'm 180. That's where I got 600.

You'll have the advantage from a stop. Contact patch means nothing in the face of load sensitivity. 300 lbs per wheel vs. 825 lbs is a ridiculously unfair advantage. I'm talking 20-30% more grip. Bikes also tend to come with stickier tires vs. a comparable street car.

In my mind, I was imagining you guys from a roll at about 60. Launching from a dig, the R6 would take it no problem.

Must have gotten a little heavier with redesigns. 2008 had a 366lb dry weight and I am sure 4 gallons of gas along with oil and fluids does not weigh 50lbs. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/347/12...irst-Look.aspx
So, from 60 on it would probably be a decent race, I suppose, I was thinking around town and stop to stop as posted by everyone else.

Also, when I originally posted I did say Corvettes, so Z06 does apply, but the majority of Corvettes around here do not Z06 or ZR1 models. I don't even see any Grand Sports really, mostly just "base model" Vettes... which is a laugh.

Mustangs are the only letdown of programs like Pinks or PassTime. You'll see people come out in beautiful pimping rides (Goats, Chargers, Chevelles etc) line up against a POS 3rd or 4th gen primered Fox-body... and lose. It's cheap go-fast, straight-line garbage. I'll take my MC anyday.

You'd be surprised. Our Formula SAE car from last year uses a Honda F4i enigne and weighs in at around 410 dry, but 449 wet, and it only has 2.5 gallons of gas.

Nonetheless, I was just playing devil's advocate. A base corvette would be crushed. A Z06 would probably still be beat, but it wouldn't be by anything big, maybe 1-2 car lengths from 60-120.

Most of the "Mustang Guys" around here fly by me on the highway, and then slow down trying to get me to race. Not much action from stop light to stop light (although most of my "around town" driving is through a college campus, so there's really not much opportunity for them to try). If they knew about the silent (bypass valve) supercharger lurking under the hood as I cruised, they'd probably thank me for ignoring them, haha.

Everything you say is true.

I've had a run-in with a vette. Not only could I not hear myself think with the ground shattering subwoofers he was blaring, I also had to endure the horrendous thunder of his wide open exhaust. I seriously tried to get away from him as fast and efficiently as possible in fear of being hit by the idiot. It was kind of scary. LOL
