Really appreciate your offer, but you being in the UK make things almost impossible. Still I will give some thought to the idea.

Thank's

no probs, they offer is however available and real..... more than happy to pay any costs so your not incurring anything, if its something i can help with on the UK side of exhaust sales, you may considerably open up your options, my car is probably of the most modified and well known cars in terms of z4ms in the uk at least.....(its also the only supercharged z4m in the uk currently)

im just wondering if MORE sales can bring the cost down a little, its definitely something i can help with, sooooo many UK owners NOT on this forum are looking for type of option BUT with UK owners they WILL not be the first to do things ;-)

if would could get that Group buy into much bigger numbers it would be nice to see the price drop alittle :-)

if i can get an exhaust system i will run a proper detailed thread from start to finish.... im happy to pay whatever you want.... its an offer you should consider, and if i can drum up numbers my side we could all benefit from a lower unit cost and you make more money..... win win.....

The mufflers we are using are built specifically for us based on our specifications for performance and sound. We also wanted to show our first customers we are using quality products on our system. We have spent a lot of time on the research in how all all of our components work together to produce a high quality system for a reasonable price.

The ceramic is a necessary component to the mufflers. The coating on the mufflers do not only add protection and add esthetics but play an intricate part on the system. Each part of the system works hand and hand with each other to achieve the goals set initially.

The tips are the last part of our system that shapes the sound. The tips are specially designed to enhance the sound so the end result is truly the sound you desire. Our tips are hand built and designed for equal flow To most of you the way the tips look can either make or break the system. we considered all the input from the forum and tried to design Great looking tips but also functional. All options were considered tip diameter, length, and material, You might say we built the tips to your specs.

Our system is connected with racing clamps and flanges which eliminate turbulence for maximum performance. For those of you Do It Yourself you are going to really appreciate this aspect of the system when it comes to installing or replacing components, this will quickly become an invaluable component to you. For those of you who take it to the shop to be installed (nothing wrong with that) you will be able to say your system uses race technology.

We have searched for a way to get seamless quality welds on our system. We feel our welds provide the maximum strength you can achieve. Our welds not only add esthetics to the system but play another intricate part Since the welds are so smooth they (along with other factors) reduce the horsepower robbing exhaust turbulence

We put an incredibly amount of engineering and research into all components Especially the mufflers the mufflers were made to complement the entire DKF system. We spent hours of time, numerous calculations and program simulators to produce the best system.

I guess to sum it up we have strived to bring our customers the best exhaust system based on racing technology to our customers for the best price possible.

I hope the information we have provided has given some insight to the questions purposed as well as answered them sufficiently

Respectfully
I am glad you guys took the time to outline these points for the post. Many of the items you mention above are what set the system apart from others in my opinion. This is why I am still on board. you guys have built something very cool

I feel bad that my car is down, the timing could not be worse for your project . Even though it's not my doing I appologize and will do what I can to get the car back on-line ASAP. Until then I will update with videos and photos of final fitment

Byron,
DKF designed this system with F/I in mind. I think you are right, your car would be a perfect fit for testing. I wish we were neighbors. I would have you come to my garage and help you install the system today so we could finally see some F/I numbers.

Your car has just come out of hibernation, while my just sits in the garage hiding from perfectly good weather
Take a good long extra drive for me man, I sure wish I could

arhhhhh chris if we were neighbours, our families would never see us or the cars...... my car would be over in your garage trailing fitments right NOW!!!! lol

it seems were aiming this setup at just one market..... such a shame considering the blatant quality and work thats gone into it... i was hoping do basically do what your doing but on the uk side of things, again im a well known member who pretty much has ALL the mods on the car usually before anyone else.... im pretty much the uk test pilot for most things....

again the main aim was to drive down the price further with more sales, wider audience and get the price down for everyone and get DKF the return he rightly deserves imo.....

i know for a FACT if i could get a system over here, document install, weight in parts like you have, run some dynos i could move quite afew of these sytems.... im not asking for any favours at all and all costs for my time/ dyno / and general would be gladly swallowed, if i can get a cheaper GB price for us ALL including myself, im down......

Now for Dynos... We want to get more setups done but the weather here is really crap and we can't get a car there during snow season.
If you need help with dynos I can be of assistance. I have a local performance shop I can run dynos on to help speed up the testing process. I'll just need the different setups you want to test. My car really isn't doing anything since it isn't my daily.

Theory Explained

Guys here is a simple explanation of the exhaust theory that I used to create this system.

S-Pipe

The S-Pipe is basically designed to work as an extension of the headers, while optimizing flow and velocity with the least amount of constriction. The coating and step are both used to achieve this process. The tabs are used to bridge resonance which reduces unwanted rasp.

X Pipe

The X-Pipe uses the same principle as the S-Pipe for performance, with the addition of minimized bends to diminish constriction. The crossover area’s main purpose is sound equalization. (The S54 engine doesn’t benefit from crossover scavenging in it’s current location).

Bypass Area

Resonators
Street V1 is used to optimize the sound while Street V2, Sport V1 and V2 are used to achieve a balance between sound and performance.

Straight Pipe
Race V1 and V2 are used strictly for performance applications or when extreme annoyance to neighbors is desired.

Cats

CTS 300 is used in the attempt to relocate secondary O2 sensors without causing a CEL.
CTL 100 is used to maximize performance when a catalytic converter is required.

Also is good to mention that this system was designed to achieve its maximum capacity using open flow headers.

Guys I have confidence that the power that this exhaust makes is good and I know for fact that it sounds great, that said I'm going to start posting in our website prices for the system, GB may not be the way to go, but for those that want to pay the price for a system that is built from the ground up we will start accepting orders by end of the month, hangers are already on the website and they are ready to go for those that want to have better sound and adjustability.

Also by next week we will have other things on the website that were under development this last year.

yes.. DKF came up with the exhaust and many people complained about the price, the exhaust was imo exactly what we needed for the z4m community and the quality looked pretty awesome.....

DKF went to the drawing board to try and reduce costs, sadly weve been at that point for months and months...... im REALLY sad to say, i dont think this will happen now, but doug is tring his hardest and has had a really tough road with this.... top man for sure.

DKF are great people, great designs and with true morals if things go wrong.... i for one am very disappointed my car doesn't have the DKf setup....At this point im going to leave my exhaust alone.... cant be bothered with it now!!

Thanks man. It's good to be back. Things got hectic after I bought a home, started a new job, and got engaged in a short period of time. But i'm back into the car scene and looking for a jeep srt8 for a second vehicle.

Yea i had alot of phone conversations with Giovanni when I was going to be a tester but i could not hold out after some delays receiving the exhaust (see above financial reasons lol.) He seemed like a great guy and always answered the phone. Quality did seem high to me also. I think I saw you or someone else ended up with one of the first kits?
